Fantastic Autumnal window in our Charity Shop in Westward Ho today by our lovely volunteer, Viki. As it’s getting a little chillier we’ve got all the warmth of colour showing through the display. 🍁

We hope everyone has a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend. Our lovely volunteers and staff are taking a break so we will not be open on Bank Holiday Monday. Both shops will be re-open 9.30am Tuesday 1st September.

In the meantime, a small handful of our volunteers have decided to host a small fundraising event this Sunday. They will be running a TOMBOLA TABLE outside the Rose Lane Shop in Barnstaple. All the fun will be starting at about 10am. So pop down and say hi if you're anywhere near Tesco @ Rose Lane Barnstaple tomorrow.
These wonderful Volunteers are raising funds to coincide with the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity 'Topless Swim Event' that is being held in November for the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity Fern Centre Services. For more details on this event you can check it out on the on the event page of our website: event website:

We are all too aware of the issues that Charity Shops have with Shop-Lifting. Theft in charity shops is a rising issue across the UK, costing individual stores an average of over £26,000 a year in lost revenue.
It saddens us to see lovely pre-owned items that have been donated to our Royal Devon Hospitals Charity Shops taken without payment. Over the past 3 days we have been able to identify the loss of a handful of items totally so far to £142.00. These items were hanging in the direct eye-line of staff and volunteers. It literally makes our stomach turn to know that some delightful people would take from a charity. Goodness knows how many other items of stock leave our shops on a daily basis without payment.

No matter how much crime-prevention is put into place and caution is taken when stocking the rails, theft will always be an occurrence. The volunteers as well as the Staff and Fundraising Team across the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity & Royal Devon Hospitals Charity Fern Centre work tirelessly to generate those extra funds for our local NHS services.

Please THINK before taking from a Charity. 🥹
