The UK Government is currently considering significant new restrictions on consumer fireworks. While well‑intentioned, further bans on already‑regulated F2 and F3 products risk creating unintended consequences for public safety and for the many responsible businesses including this one that operate legally and safely within this sector.
Legitimate fireworks sold in the UK undergo strict safety testing, chemical controls, and conformity assessments. Removing these compliant products from the market would not prevent anti‑social behaviour — evidence consistently shows that misuse is driven by 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹, 𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 fireworks sourced through black‑market channels. Eliminating safe, legal options would only strengthen those channels and reduce the ability of authorities to maintain oversight.
Fireworks are also part of a 400‑year British tradition enjoyed by families, community groups, and professional display companies. Any regulatory change should be based on balanced evidence, not the views of a small but vocal minority.
The Government’s consultation is now live, and it is important that all consumers, retailers, display operators, and community members — ensure their views are represented.
