We're proud to announce our Santa Band charity for 2026: Supporting SNUG (Supporting Neonatal Users & Graduates).

When we asked you to nominate a charity close to their hearts, we heard some incredible stories about organisations across the South West, but one in particular had an incredible amount of support.

SNUG is a truly special organisation, providing wrap-around support to families who have experienced a difficult pregnancy, birth or neonatal stay; reducing stress, anxiety and isolation at one of the most challenging times a family can face. Based right here in the South West, they have supported thousands of families, offering peer support, community and compassion when it's needed most.

At a time when our local maternity services in North Devon are facing such significant challenges, it felt more important than ever to shine a light on the incredible work SNUG do for families in our community. We are honoured to be raising money for them this Christmas. 💙

🎅 Start saving your coins! Our Santa Band opens on Santa’s arrival night and donations can be made right through to the start of January 2027.

Every penny makes a difference!

Plant of the Week: Rudbeckia ‘Fireball’ 🔥

If you wander through the canopies at St. John’s Barnstaple this week, this will be the first thing that catches your eye, it is gorgeous.

Rudbeckia ‘Fireball’ is a real late-summer showstopper, bursting with rich, fiery red and golden-orange double blooms that bring serious drama to borders and containers alike. Unlike your typical rudbeckia, the fully double flowers give it a lush, almost dahlia-like quality that makes it genuinely stand out from the crowd.

Long-flowering, sturdy and incredibly easy to grow, it thrives in a sunny spot and keeps on giving right through to autumn, just when the garden needs the colour most 🧡💛

You don't need a huge garden to make a big difference. A little display could fit comfortably in most modern gardens but still deliver colour all summer.

Why not try a herb garden for practical planting, or perhaps a planted arrangement of our smaller plants for a quick pop of colour? 🪴

Plant of the Week: H**e Kiwi ‘Queen’ 👑

This gorgeous, compact evergreen is a true garden all-rounder. With its rich, deep foliage and pretty purple-violet flower spikes, it brings year-round structure and seasonal colour to borders, pots and containers alike. Hardy, low-maintenance and loved by pollinators, what’s not to love? 🐝
