So the time has come to announce that Labyrinth Records will be closing. It’s been an amazing two years, and before saying anything else I want to thank every person who’s supported the shop since it opened in August 2020. Also a huge thanks to the wonderful people at and all of our brilliant neighbours at the Barry site. I couldn’t have done any of it without you.

To clarify the closure a little more; as some of you may know it’s just one person who runs Labyrinth, myself; Tom. Over the last two years I’ve split my time running the shop and pursuing my long term goal of becoming a freelance culture journalist. It’s now got to the point where I must choose which one to focus on, and unfortunately I have to give the majority of my time over to this next chapter of my life.

It’s a challenging time for small business right now and to make it work you have to give 110%, which I’m just not able to do any more. It’s a bittersweet ending. While I’ll miss the shop and all the people surrounding it, I’m also extremely excited by the opportunities that are opening up for me.

Labyrinth’s last trading day is going to be Sunday 11th September. From now until then all of our remaining stock will be sold at a 30% discount. If you can, come on down and pick something up and have a chat. Thank you once again to everyone who’s supported the shop over the last two years, it’s been brilliant.

NEW LOCATION: We’re excited to have moved into our new shop! We’re still at , but down in one of the train carriages instead of on the first floor, in between our lovely new neighbours and .

There's one or two little bits still left to sort out, but overall we absolutely love how the shop’s looking, along with the new stock additions. Everything about this move feels good - the great location, all of our new neighbours, the future of the shop and site. Thanks to everyone who helped the move and has visited us over the last 18 months, couldn’t have done it without ya!

EXCITING NEWS: So today is going to be our last day at our current location. We’re moving Labyrinth Records downstairs to the train carriages at to become part of the site’s new ‘urban high street’ rebrand.

There’ll be a post in the coming days detailing more about the new location. For now all we’ll say is that we’re gonna miss our shipping container but are seriously excited about the new site and all of its potential.

Happy New Year from Labyrinth! 💥🔥💥

We’re excited to be back in the shop again, so have decided to reopen a little earlier than expected. We will now be opening back up tomorrow (Saturday 8th), rather than next Wednesday, and will be resuming our normal days and hours.

We had a great Christmas period, despite being closed between Xmas and NYE due to an inevitable run in with Covid, so would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported the shop during this strange period.

We’re buzzing for the new year and have a ton of new ideas and plans that we can’t wait to share with you.

A merry Christmas from Labyrinth! These our opening hours going forward, we’re closed for a week in the New Year and will obviously post an update if anything happens regarding government restrictions. No one wants a boring slipmat on their record player, so cop a Labyrinth branded one! These are available in store now for £9.99. Fun fact: The felt slipmat was invented by Grandmaster Flash in the 70s because he hated mixing with the rubber mats that were standard in that era.

We’re very excited to announce that we’re now selling record players! We currently have these beautiful Ion Audio Max LP’s in stock, which have built-in speakers (and obviously aux input if you already have a speaker system), a gorgeous wood finish and the ability to transfer your records to mp3. It all comes at a very reasonable price and is absolutely perfect for anyone looking to start record collecting. Because of this, we’re including in the purchase your pick of any record that we have in stock. We’re hugely pleased to be launching our monthly subscription service! It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while and a lot of people have registered an interest in, so we’re very excited to get this off the ground.

Here’s how it works…

For £25 a month we’ll choose you a vinyl record based on your preferences and tastes. The record will be handpicked by us from our collection and you can get it mailed to you for free or pick it up from the store.

The subscription also gets you 10% off on all in-store and online purchases, and enters you into exclusive giveaways and other newsletters and early announcements.

If you’re interested in our subscription, in the ‘Tastes & Preferences’ section of your purchase, please write up to 7 genres, styles or eras you would like your monthly pick to be tailored around. Then at the delivery page select the free ‘Subscription’ option.

And that’s it! Your subscription will be rolling, but you can cancel it at any time and if you have any other questions or requests please drop us a message or email.
