School Essentials Grant 2026/27 for Jenner Park Families.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council School Essentials Grant is officially open!
Families on a low income can claim £125 per child to help buy primary school uniforms, coats, shoes, bags, and sports kits for the upcoming school year.
What you will receive: £125 for all eligible Primary pupils entering Reception up to Year 6.(If you have older children moving to secondary school, the grant is £200 for Year 7 onwards).📋
Who is eligible? Your child must attend a primary school and your household must receive one of the following income-based benefits:
Income Support or Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
Guarantee Element of Pension Credit
Universal Credit (with a yearly net household income under £7,400)
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Important Note: Under the Vale of Glamorgan Council scheme, all primary-aged pupils receive Universal Primary Free School Meals. However, this does not automatically qualify you for the school uniform grant. You must still meet the income-based criteria above to apply.

Applications close: 31 May 2027
