For those of you who can’t make the funeral of John Lewis of the Barry music shop and JPL sound and Communications, which takes place today at 1400 hrs at The Barry Crematorium,

The procession will be passing by THE BARRY MUSIC SHOP at approx 13:30hrs today.

We aware that John had many friends in this area.

It is with a heavy and saddened heart that I write this post this morning.

Yesterday evening John From JPL Sound and communications and The Barry Music Shop Passed away.

For many decades John has provided sound stage and lighting for countless amount of people throughout Wales and England

John was integral to shows that stretch back as far as the horse and flower show that used to be held in Romily park and right through until his passing yesterday he was providing stage sound and lighting for Ty Hafan on Barry Island.

With all of his experience and knowledge he was always keen to help new events such as Cadstock Rhoose Summer Music festival and GlastonBarry as they were starting up offering advice and also equipment.

It is only now as I sit here and write this that I realise the magnitude of the empire that he built.

John not only provided sound for music events but also horse and agricultural shows throughout Wales he also worked with the athletics world providing stage sound and lighting to events as far away as The Windsor half marathon. He also was involved in the Western beach race and covered the entire front of western beach with sound equipment with the recognisable JPL SOUND logo.

John was a big supporter of the church and often provided for their events and shows without charging them.

For one man he didn’t half get around

The list would be far to long to write about all of the things that John was involved with but trust me when I say there are very few people that did what John did

He will be greatly missed by the town he loved and provided so much for

And even though he was our boss he was also our friend.

You will be greatly missed John

Finally today - we now have the Carlsbro 30B Guitar amplifiers now in stock!

Some of you were lucky who purchased the new Lawrence Matt Silver Music Stands a couple on months ago !
We only brought in 6 of them to try them out. We were surprised to receive such good reports about them being used - so have ordered a box full this time - they are STILL only £20 each - but they have tubular tripod legs and extending upright, the actual music stand even has arms to stop the pages rather than them turning in their own - plus these arms have springs in them - so super easy to use!
The best bit is opening up these stands - there is NO complicated way you have to learn to open them up - unlike some - even we have been baffled by the odd one or two makes🤔🤣, so now IN STOCK👀 Oh and a black carry bag as well😀

It’s delivery day today - new sound systems, Ukuleles, posh but not expensive music stands and lots more- we will post pictures as we open the boxes!
First up is the Studiomaster Direct 121MX, with 12” sub and powerful column speaker- there seems to be a lot of D.J’s being targeted by Studiomaster to use these!
The Sound is superb with built in DSP (Digital Sound Processing) Built in Bluetooth 5 and Bluetooth TWS (True Wireless Stereo) 3 inputs 2 Combi sockets for mic or line, input 3 is on jack socket for instrument and of course channel 4 is Bluetooth OR twin RCA phono’s. There is a male XLR output at line level plus the first two channels also have Reverb EFX as well!
Cost is normally £819 inc VAT but we can do deals!

Please also REMEMBER at this time of year as people are starting to think about CHRISTMAS Gifts - we do a put away scheme, where you choose your instrument/ amplifier/ Guitar/Electronic Drum Kit/Digital Piano, put a deposit and pay for it in instalments until Christmas Eve (or before) and then collect it!
We do NOT charge anything else whatsoever for this service plus please remember that if you are buying - say a guitar, amplifier, lead, strap and gig bag we will do a discount for a package deal!😃
We do carry plenty of stock, so we always ensure our customers get what you need for Christmas!
There is no charge to putting gear away, paying a deposit you can afford and pay by instalments between now and Christmas Eve!
We also do gift vouchers for those of you who do not know what to buy musicians for Christmas!!
