As the snowdrops bloom and the first hints of spring start to colour the season, there’s no better place to wander and explore than Viables Craft Centre — a place steeped in local history and creative spirit 🌱

Originally part of an old family farm on the Harrow Way, Viables was saved from demolition in the 1970s and lovingly transformed into the vibrant hub it is today! 🛍️You can still spot echoes of its past in the cobbles, historic walls and heritage features around the site!

🚂 And don’t miss the charming miniature railway run by the Basingstoke & District Model Engineering Society — offering fun running days for visitors throughout the year and a nod to Britain’s engineering history in miniature form. 

From blossoming snowdrops to tiny steam engines, there’s something magical about this little corner of Basingstoke in spring 💚

Cake the Biscuit’s little Cake Shed is one of those Viables gems that people either know about… or are VERY happy when they discover it 🍰

Tucked at Viables Craft Centre and open on Saturdays, it’s basically a self-serve cupboard of sweet chaos — brownies, blondies, rocky roads, cookies, cake tubs… it changes week to week so there’s always something different waiting.

Perfect excuse for a weekend wander, a “just a little treat,” or a reward for doing literally anything productive that day.

A New Year reflection & making experience

January doesn’t have to begin with pressure.

A Soft Start is a gentle, immersive experience created to help you ease into the year ahead — thoughtfully and without expectations.

This is not a class or a lecture, but a calm, guided experience where you’ll be invited to slow down, reflect and create

During our time together, you’ll:

✨ reflect on the year that’s passed
🕯 create your own intention candle
🔮 make a renewal jar to take home
📓 work with guided journalling prompts
🌿 create a simple vision / energy board

Everything is optional, and no prior experience or spiritual belief is needed. This is a small, supportive group experience designed to feel calm, creative, and grounding.
