Threads After Dark 🌃

For years, our samples have lived on the rails and in the window on Walcot Street. The jumpers, the shawls, the hats and socks - pieces we knitted to show what a yarn could do, then tucked away as trends moved on and yarns were discontinued.

On 24th November, we're letting them go. All of them, in one evening, at the Roman Baths.

We're taking over the Great Bath after hours. A fashion show around the pool, styling our handknits with wardrobe staples from local brands. Because that's how we actually get dressed: a hand-knitted jumper over a shirt you've had for years.

Afterwards, the knitwear is yours to buy. One-offs, never worn, collected in the shop over more than a decade, and gone for good once they're gone. Your ticket includes two drinks and time to wander the Baths after hours, with the pool lit and the crowds long gone.

Bring someone who doesn't knit. This one is as much for them as for us: an evening about clothes and about wearing what you like with confidence. You don't need to know a purl from a knit to enjoy it. Please tag anyone in the comments you think would enjoy this evening.

Proceeds go to Voices, a Bath charity providing recovery support and advocacy to people affected by domestic abuse. We're proud to support the extraordinary work they do.

A blanket knit with a whole lot of love 💛

I made this baby blanket for a very special friend, using one of my absolute favourite yarns - Origin. It was meant to be a newborn blanket, and although I finished it months ago, I saved it for something special: her little one's first birthday last week.

I knew I wanted to use Origin for this project, so the next step was finding a pattern I loved and that felt right for both mum and baby. Purl Soho is always a lovely place to start for something like this. They had a colourway in their photos that I could closely replicate, and it felt just right for the gift. Left to my own devices I'd probably have gone properly bright, but this softer palette suits my friend perfectly.

Origin is such a beautiful weight for a pram blanket, and I hope little Flora treasures it for years to come.
