A HUGE good luck to everyone taking part for BHF Scotland this Sunday!

Whether you're walking the Mighty Stride, the Big Stroll or the Wee Wander, every step you take is helping to power lifesaving research and support the 800,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases across Scotland.

Thank you for all the training, fundraising and hard work you've put in to get to the start line. We're incredibly grateful to have you on Team BHF ❤️

Be sure to tag us in your photos and videos throughout the day. We can't wait to celebrate your amazing achievements!

As we reflect on the success of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, we'd like to give a huge shout out to Roger Black. ❤️

Pictured here at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, where he won two gold medals in the 400m and 4x400m relay, Roger has been an incredible supporter of the BHF this year.

By sharing his own experience of living with a heart condition and speaking so passionately about the importance of heart research, he's helped raise awareness and inspire others across the UK.

Roger, thank you for using your voice to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease.

Please join us in saying thank you to Roger in the comments.

Bravo to Milo Trainor Moss, cycling solo from Poland to Edinburgh to raise funds for the BHF 🚴🚴❤️

Milo survived an out of hospital cardiac arrest in 2020 and now lives with epilepsy, so has to manage his heath carefully, especially during exercise, to make sure his heart rate doesn't get too high or he doesn't become too fatigued.

But, incredibly, he has covered over 1250kms in the past week, setting off from Warsaw, through Germany, and Holland, before crossing from Rotterdam to Hull.

He's now on the home stretch and will make it back to Edinburgh on Friday - via York, Stockton on Tees, Newcastle, Alnwick, and Berwick upon Tweed.

If you see him give him a wave and even better, you can donate to his fundraising here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/milo-trainor-moss-3

Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful NatWest graduates who recently joined us for a volunteering day at the BHF Scotland office in Edinburgh.

The team took part in a charity scavenger hunt across Edinburgh and Leith, spending the day meeting local retailers and business owners, building new connections and securing an incredible range of raffle prizes to support future BHF fundraising activities. Their enthusiasm, professionalism and passion for making a difference shone through in every conversation. The graduates were fantastic ambassadors for both NatWest and the British Heart Foundation.

NatWest has been one of the BHF's most valued and loyal corporate supporters for many years. Through initiatives including MyRewards, Giving Tuesday, match funding, volunteering days and the promotion of our RevivR CPR training programme, they continue to make a significant impact on our work and the people we support.

Every pound raised, every hour volunteered and every colleague who learns CPR through RevivR helps us move closer to a world where everyone has a healthier heart for longer. Where fewer hearts stop without warning and more of us can live well with the people we love. Together, we're funding the groundbreaking research that saves and improves lives across Scotland and the UK.

To all the NatWest graduates who took part, and to everyone at NatWest who continues to support the BHF, thank you. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership, your generosity and your commitment to helping us keep more hearts beating. 💓

Thank you to Andy McKay and Team Jenna for walking 16 miles in support of the British Heart Foundation👏❤️

The McKay family and friends 'Crossing Bridges for Hearts' challenge, saw them cross 12 bridges, starting at the Albert Bridge in Glasgow and finishing at Erskine Bridge.

Every year this amazing group undertake fantastic challenges to raise funds in memory of Jenna McKay who sadly passed away in 2011, aged 18, from an undiagnosed heart condition.

Their latest endeavours have raised an incredible £3k - topping up £260,000 they have already donated to BHF - helping to fund lifesaving research into cardiovascular diseases.

Thank you Team Jenna for your commitment, energy and generosity. Together we power research that saves lives.

If you are interested in taking on a challenge on behalf of BHF, please get in touch!

❤️ A huge thank you to the fantastic team at Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers! ❤️

Their colleagues in the Inverurie office have been going above and beyond to support the British Heart Foundation, bringing people together through a brilliant fundraising quiz night and taking part in CPR training, kindly delivered by our wonderful Ellon BHF Scotland Fundraising Group.

Their commitment doesn't stop there, with fundraising efforts continuing throughout 2026. So far, they have raised an incredible £2,193, helping to fund the lifesaving research that gives hope to millions affected by heart and circulatory diseases.

We're truly grateful for your enthusiasm, generosity and ongoing support. Together, we're helping to keep more hearts beating for longer.

Thank you for making such a difference. 💙❤️

Chapeau to Dr’s Fergus Douds and Chandima Perera who cycled 140-miles from Kinross-shire to Inverness in memory of their friend and colleague Swaraj Alkanti, who sadly died aged only 50 while out hillwalking, something that he loved.

Dr Alkanti, a fellow psychiatrist, from Fife leaves behind a wife, and two daughters.

His family chose the BHF as recipients for the funds raised by Fergus and Chandima – almost £5000!

“It was the longest cycle either of us had done, but we paced ourselves,” says Fergus.

“There was a lot of reminiscing about our friend and colleague, Swaraj, along the way on what coincidentally, would have been his birthday.”

The British Heart Foundation is grateful to the extraordinary people all over Scotland who go the extra mile every day, raising funds for our research which helps families stay together for longer.

Let us know if you know someone who deserves a shout out! ❤️❤️
