Three rag rugs just completed. They all have a hessian backing. The greeny one and blue one have been woven with woollen selvedge. The bright mixed coloured one is woven with wool selvedge and white sheep's fleece.
One is going to Kingcraig Fabrics, the other two are for stock. If you are interested or want the measurements or more photos, please message me.

This time a patchwork woven bag with two canvas shoulder straps. Feature homemade button with clock charm. Lining is dark green cotton with gold stars, and it has an internal patch pocket.

ONE WEEK TO GO UNTIL WOOLLY WEEKEND

Calling all textile crafters and woolly fans! Don't miss our annual wool craft event, taking place here at the Highland Folk Museum on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July.

See crafts in action and have a go yourself, supported by lots of local craft groups and makers including the Speyside Spinners, the Highland Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and Bunloit Woolery.

This year we’ll be based in Am Fasgadh, and there will be opportunities throughout the weekend to see some of our textile crafts collection in the museum store.

There will be other wool and sheep activities across the museum site too – including crafts at the Township and shepherd’s tales in the Bothy.

Còmhlan Luadh Bhàideanach (Badenoch Waulking Group) will be performing each day between 1pm and 3pm.

All activities are drop-in, no need to book.

Nine hand woven braids completed, wrapped around cards and packaged into bags. Patterned silk bags with a silk handmade cord for the silk braids, and cream linen bags with a linen handmade cord for the linen braids and the one woollen braid.
All ready to be given to Laura to take to Tewkesbury Medieval Festival for selling.

5.5m ( almost 6 yds) x 2.5cm (1inch) wide, blue linen braid completed.
Now to make the linen bag for it so it is ready to go down to Tewkesbury Medieval Festival to be sold ( hopefully).

Black, red and light grey mulberry silk braid completed. Hand dyed and hand woven on a Swedish band loom, which is similar in style to looms in many medieval pictures.

6.75m (7 yds 11 inches), and 2.5cm (1inch) wide. £7.50 a metre = £50.63p. Message me if you are interested in buying it.

Ideal for reenactment and living history clothing.
