Just had to buy it for a £1.

This Spring we decided to plant an unneccesary break in Plot1 with Nordmanns.

Its 39 rows by 4 columns = 156 baby trees.

Did a health check today.

24 dead!

= 6.5% dead

Always allow for 5% loss, so tad over.

But if each of those trees had lived to be 5ft, they would have been worth £1200....

Another reason why buying british is really important...

And into the TEENS we go.

These 30c+ temperatures aren't nice.

Our bigger trees are coping well.

Our little trees are not liking it so much.

November will be here before you know it.

And so we hit 20 Fridays to Christmas & still coping with temperatures that are 20+c.

When will this weather cool down???

Planting a row of Conifer alongside this plot of Nordmanns was the right thing to do.

They may not be shaded all day but when they are shaded they are most definately happier.

Also makes hand watering them a better experience for us too.

Trees supporting other trees with shade is definately the way to go.

With only 21 FRIDAYS to CD all we can really focus on at the moment is keepibg our Spring planted Saplings alive.

Weeding & Mowing is on the back burner.

Watering is TOP priority.

Our MERRI Flowers ● Est.2017 are coping well with just a weekly watering.

27c is becoming the new normal..

Twenty - Three Fridays to Christmas Day, and this heatwave is still going.

Not sure whether weeding is more important than watering.

The weeds are stealing underground water reserved.

Watering would nurture both weeds & trees.

Some rain would be welcomed.

Put reminder on calendar.

I think the sun & heat is getting to me & this watering of new trees isnt fun either....
