🌶️ Ever wondered why commercial chilli growers spend so much time pruning and tying up their plants?

This time-lapse shows Claire and me working our way through Tunnel 1, carefully pruning and supporting hundreds of our super-hot chilli plants.

Removing the lower leaves and side shoots encourages the plant to focus its energy where it matters most – producing bigger, healthier crops of chillies. It also improves airflow around the base of the plant, helping reduce disease pressure and creating better conditions for successful pollination.

As the season progresses, these plants will be carrying an incredible weight of peppers. Without strings and support clips, many would simply topple over or snap under the load.

It's one of those jobs that's absolutely essential for healthy plants and maximum yields... even if it is a lot of work! 🌶️💪

🎬 Connor's Father's Day Advice – Part 4 🌶️🔥

Joanna asks:

"What could go wrong?"

Connor's response?

"What could go RIGHT?" 😆

What follows is another classic Connor monologue involving Chilli Ninja Sambal, Inferno Hot Sauce, Armageddon The End Sauce, and a theory about what happens when someone who can't handle heat (perhaps your dad 👀) decides to try them.

According to Connor, the worst-case scenario is Dad ends up lying on the porch asking for ice cream... and then finding out there isn't any. 😂🍦

The best-case scenario?

You get your phone out, film it, and make a fortune from the video. 🤣📱

🌶️ "Why should people bring their dads here on Father's Day?" 🌶️

Joanna asks a simple question.

Connor's answer?

"To blow his face off with our chilli sauces..." 😆🔥

He then goes on to explain that if you REALLY want Dad to have a memorable day, you should give him some of our Armageddon sauce... or perhaps a Carolina Reaper. 😳🌶️

According to Connor, it'll be a little bit funny for Dad...
..but MUCH funnier for you. 😂

🌶️ “Connor… what chillies will we be trying on Father’s Day?” 🌶️

Simple question. Dangerous answer… 😆🔥

Apparently, one of the chillies on the tasting menu will be the **Carolina Reaper** 😳

Connor’s suggestion? Bring Dad along… or maybe challenge a sibling… or that one family member who thinks they can handle heat 👀😂

Just remember… you *might* want some milk nearby 🥛🔥

🌶️ “Connor… what ARE these plants?” 🌶️

What should have been a simple question somehow turned into a full botanical TED Talk… 🤣🌱

If you’ve ever met Connor, you’ll know there’s no such thing as a short answer when chillies are involved!

And while he’s telling you how you can melt your eyebrows off… don’t forget our **Father’s Day event – Saturday 21 June, 12pm–4pm** 🌶️🔥

Bring Dad (or treat yourself if you're the Dad 😄) for chillies, plants, sauces, great food, and a relaxed afternoon at the farm.

Even under extreme greenhouse conditions, our sensors keep delivering reliable, real-time data.

This image was captured inside the Bramble Greenhouse where temperatures reached an intense 47°C (116.6°F). Accurate environmental monitoring in conditions like these are critical for protecting crops, optimizing performance, and supporting smarter growing decisions.

What’s Shawn doing?

Planting up Dorset Naga plants into their final position. 🌱

20L pots. Four to a pallet. One dripper each — their lifeline from here on.

From this small start… to large, fruiting plants over the coming months.

First time trying a time-lapse on the Insta360 — won’t be the last.

Season’s moving.

Would you grow something this hot? 🌶️
