Looking back in E&Ns October wedding a few years ago. This has to be in my top 3 favourite wedding bouquets of all time- the colours, the style and the drama. The highlight though is the dahlias including by favourite dark pink blousy Thomas Edison. He looks great in my garden too this time of year and really brightens it up and makes me smile.

Lots of Autumnal loveliness out for delivery today - chinese lanterns, teasels, berries, grasses, seed pods, feathers, hydrangeas, strawflowers mixed with fresh foliage and a few dahlias on a handmade willow frame. Ready to pretty up a door and take it through until a christmas one replaces it. These wreath last so well as the materials are either dry already or chosen for how well they dry and hold their shape and colour.

It’s about time we talk Christmas - not that I want to wish my favourite autumnal season away, but this next week is when traditionally most booking get made and venues fill up.

Welcoming Autumn in with our first wreath workshop. Making memories , making friends and making a beautiful unique wreath for their homes. One wreath was going in a suitcase the nest day to Spain after a holiday celebrating with a big birthday with family. I enjoyed practicing my spanish, with some basic instructions and compliment- ‘Es muy bonito!’.
My favourite comment of the session was “Wow you live here- i thought you’d hired it for the workshop’. The weather and the greening grass certainly gave our beautiful setting the wow factor!

It’s officially Autumn which means pumpkins, dahlias and wreaths in abundance . Our favourite time of year!

This week I shall be mainly sorting all my dried goodies, collected fresh seed pods and cones and harvesting willow ready for workshop season. Starting this Friday and over the next month, including weekend dates, we have 6 fun workshops run at Harrold, Turvey House & Estate and Stanwick Lakes. Florist – question for you? Do you dress up to deliver your flowers? I always plan to but ultimately end up in my work clothes with leaves in my hair! For this wedding I saved my pretty dress for the celebration and had actually planned plenty of time to prepare. Even though I knew the photographer would be there and that there might be a photo of us, I love the reality of this photo captured perfectly by Sophie Duckworth . Real life world of a florist and the bride in their denim shorts a few hours before the wedding. The calm before the crazy fun day and night !

With the heatwaves over, my thoughts and excitement turns to Autumn and the changing seasons. Darker and more muted colours, lots of lovely dried materials and a chance to create in a different way. We have a range of wreath workshops over weekdays and weekends and our yearly pumpkin workshop -ready to book now.

Another weekend, another flower crown hen do! This time at the lovely in Tiffield - the perfect venue for the girls to relax and enjoy the grounds filled with special spaces, art installations and pretty flowers. Such a pleasure to join the girls on their special weekend- they were planning to wear them out for dinner in the evening and I can’t wait to see the photos!
