I went to visit Alister Dryburgh at in Aberystwyth - known to many from Salvage Hunters - to see if I could buy from him.

I found a shop full of incredible stock, quality and history everywhere. We had a chat about how he got into antiques, the trade, Salvage Hunters, best finds, and where things are heading.

I also came home with three amazing pieces.

This one feels like the start of something I want to do more of: visiting real dealers, hearing their stories, and seeing what I can learn (and possibly buy) along the way.

This was the piece people at the fair kept stopping to look at.

A monumental Japanese Meiji bronze dragon vase with champlevé enamel. A showstopper example.

I went antique hunting in London expecting inflated prices, then found this Chinese cloisonné box at a genuinely good price.
