A little look at the renovation of our kitchen and the transformation of the units.

So much work, but so worth it. ✨

A little bit more about my vintage obsession… 🤎🧡

This kitchen actually has quite a story.

The original cream kitchen was sourced by me on eBay, and my husband went along and took the cabinets out of the house they were in and brought them home.

We installed the kitchen and lived with it for 8 years. I loved the character of the units and never really wanted to replace them with a brand-new kitchen.

Then we decided to extend our house — and we decided to take on the extension ourselves! 🏡 😵‍💫

So instead of starting again with a completely new kitchen, I started looking for more cabinets that I could incorporate into what we already had.

And that’s when I managed to source another set from a lady near Bournemouth who was renovating her own home. Her cabinets were white, while my original ones were cream… 👀

Somehow, I had to make it all work!

I renovated the units myself and slowly, through all the building work, dust, mess and chaos, our kitchen started to come together again.

Looking back at these photos now, I think this project says a lot about why I love vintage.

I love finding something with character, giving it a new lease of life and making it work in a completely different way. 🤎

And there’s quite a bit more of this story to share… ✨
