Here's a few of the captures from last season to get the taste buds wet for the upcoming season, all caught using OTT products...

It won't be long in coming now, thats us about into August, time flies past faster every year.

The king crab 👑🦀 is still the king of the deadbaiting scene here at OTT, loads of really good pike were banked using it, as well as the Hellfish and everything else.
Over 20 30lbers were banked on the products and we lost count of the mid to upper 20s.

In testing last season the lamprey X was kept under wraps to get it right for launch this year, a select few folk were testing it along with myself and we put some really good pike on the mats, this season im sure it will surpass the mighty king crab for catch reports...

I love this time of year, the prep work and scouting spots and everything else is hard to beat, the anticipation of the looming autumn and winter is up there with the best time to be alive.

Prep work time 😁

Loads of Pikers around the UK starting to think about the preparation for the deadbaiting season coming around, freshly spooling the reels with new braid, starting to make traces to fill the rig bin and starting to fill the freezer.. good times 🎣🎣

So with that im putting a 10% off discount code on the website until the end of the month (Pike 10) valid until the 31st of July.

Next up joining us for the upcoming season is Simon Harkness...

Simon is another great all round angler and is also pro staff at Fishing Tackle and Bait in Enniskillen, his home water is the mighty lough erne and he puts a lot of time and effort into fishing it, putting multiple decent 20lb+ fish on the bank last season, also an avid user of OTT products and featured on the page numerous times last season.

I fished with Simon a good few times last season and he fits in with us nicely, plenty of effort and consistency always with him and a great addition to the brand.

( On a side note... we aren't currently looking for anyone else to join the squad, im inundated with enquiries regarding it, the team is small of about 10-12 anglers and i like to keep it this way, its operatied this way because all the guys are fully sponsored and its not a discount type team, i can't just keep bringing folk in unless people leave or aren't suitable and then can be replaced with another person, its hard to find consistent and reliable people to represent a brand, thats why i bring folk in and change people out, just until the correct balance is found, everyone wants to be a sponsored angler these days but a lot of folk aren't suitable for it, and the only way it can be figured out is with trial and error )✌️✌️✌️

Pleased to welcome some new members into the OTT team for the approaching season....

1st up is John Robertson based in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
An all round angler who puts loads of time and effort on the bank, already and avid user of OTT products and hes not shy of a camera 😆 which is why he fits right in with us.

I've fished with John on the mighty lough erne when they came over last season and it was laughs from start to finish.

Welcome aboard bud, look forward to the prep work and the season kicking in.

New product drop...

Had absolutely loads of people messaging the page and my own personal profile about me mentioning releasing a limited number of the new products before launch next month, tonight at 9pm there will be a limited amount dropped on the website for those eager to get it.

10 of each product and 10 of the boost pack bundles will be available and thats it, after they are gone it won't be available until mid August for general sale in tackle shops and on the OTT website, so if you are 1 of the folk messaging then tonight's your chance to get it early.

The New Lamprey X attractant, the Lamprey X Boost juice and the New King crab boost juice are the new items in the attractant range.

I've brought 3 new additions this year as last year I only brought the hellfish out and it was an exclusive to Fishing Tackle and Bait store in Enniskillen, so no other shops stocked it.

Well folks how's it going?

Page has been quiet for a brave while now but next month I'll start ramping up the posts in preparation for the 26/27 deadbait season coming.

Im a firm believer in not promoting pike fishing in the warm weather, my page and reach suffers because of the lack of posting but in my view it has to be done.

I've just been out at the sea fishing while its warm, shorts n t-shirt and a lure rod on the hunt for the po***ck, its been great tbh but personally I can't wait for the temps to drop and get back to what we do best...

Got some new products to launch next month in preparation for everyone stocking up and getting into the pike fishing mood, it can't come soon enough for me, im absolutely busting for this heat to go away and the autumn to kick in.

I'll release a limited number of the new products on the website towards end of this month for the folk that have been messaging and asking for it and want to get in first, but will be very limited numbers until the official launch.

The mighty Sandeel...

Another great bait that not many use for pike fishing, Sandeel are always in my bait bag.

Anytime I see big enough 1s in the shop I always grab them and throw them in my freezer, the only hard part is getting good sized 1s.

I've caught loads of good pike on these, I always fully defrost them and inject a little bit of air into them to lift them off the bottom, not to make them fully float, but just enough to stand them upright, normally i would half spray them red or yellow or put an attractant into them.

Pike absolutely love these, they are much smaller than the normal baits that folk would use but the pike find them no problem at all and instantly devour them.

They can also be cast as far as you like because they weigh next to nothing, probably in my top 3 baits of choice and never leave home without them.

BAIT BOATS...
Cheating or using technology to your advantage??

Seen loads of posts recently about bait boats are cheating and all this nonsense, personally i think you're best to take advantage of what's available to you.

Being able to drop your baits out of casting range is absolutely brilliant, couple your bait boat with a deeper or any sort of sonar device is even better, dropping your bait bang on the spot you want is great.

Wouldn't be without 1 nowadays, especially fishing large expansive waters.

Circle Hook Trace

I've been making these for some time now for folk that have been messaging me privately wanting them, traces arnt something I can really be bothered with anymore but I've decided to just do them for circle hooks only, i will not be making twin treble traces as there's enough trace makers out there to cater for standard and titanium treble hook traces, but nobody seems to do decent circle traces (which are becoming more and more popular as each season passes)

I'm not looking for a debate or arguments in the comments about circles vs trebles, folk either like them or not and thats OK, popularity speaks for itself tbh so just go with the flow on it.

These are made using the best materials.

49 strand wire
OTT pred lock circle hook
Anti tangle sleeve

In 2 hook sizes 3/0 or 4/0 (these are the 2 sizes most suitable for deadbaiting)

These traces are hand tied by myself with over 30 years rig making experience and built to the highest standards.

These are tied using the loop method which gives and aggressive angle for the hook to turn and catch hold perfectly, also being tied by the loop method the hook can be easily unlooped and switched for a fresh hook without the need of a whole new trace.

Well guys how's it going?

Page has been quiet the last few weeks, been on holiday and stuff and catching up with a few things and doing a wee bit of fishing 🎣

Just a wee curiosity post, was wondering what everyone's most productive baits were last season??

For me it was mini mackerel (pictured) the wee tiny 1s were absolutely brilliant, I ran out of them and switched to bigger 1s and the bites just weren't as consistent with them, had a couple of 20s and loads of good mid to upper doubles on the really small 1s and its safe to say my freezer will be getting filled with them, mini mackerel juiced up with the king crab or the hellfish done me the majority of fish, was a deadly combination..
