Friday Feeling 🍂🍁

Anyone else really starting to feel autumny? We can’t believe we’re nearly halfway through September already!
Not gonna lie, we absolutely love the summer, but there’s something about cosy candle season that we just can’t beat. 🍂🕯️

Candles, sweet treats and pamper goodies are all stocked up at Storybox, perfect for settling into those cosy evenings, treating yourself or sending a wee thoughtful gift to someone else. 💚

We’ve got more goodies and our autumn display still to come, plus a fabulous schedule of workshops coming up over the next couple of months. We’ll be sharing the full schedule very soon, but feel free to check them out on our workshop page on the website in the meantime.

I’m especially proud to see Niamh and Rihanna recognised. Finding your feet and learning the ropes in a small business isn’t always easy, and I’ve loved watching them grow in confidence, find their strengths and become such an important part of the Storybox team.

We’re heading to NI Chamber Festival of Business 2026!

We’re delighted to have a stand once again at this year’s event and can’t wait to bring Storybox and our new gift box packaging along with us.

A huge amount is spent on corporate gifting and events across industries every year. Gifts for employees, clients, events, Christmas, milestones and everything in between.

But what if even a small fraction of that spending was redirected towards small businesses, social enterprises and artists?

It could mean more money staying in our local economy, more orders for independent makers, more opportunities for social enterprises and more support for people doing things differently.

And, as a nice bonus, you often end up with gifts that are a lot more personal, useful and enjoyable than the usual corporate giveaway.

That’s what we’re all about at Storybox.

We bring together brilliant products from local small businesses, social enterprises and artists and make it easy for organisations to give meaningful gifts for their employees, clients, events and customers.

Adrian and Emma will be at our stand ready to chat all things gifting, ready to go gifts, bespoke options as well as show you our new packaging and help you find ways to make your corporate gifting more local and ethical, without adding more work to your to do list.

And if you’re thinking of heading along, we’d definitely recommend it. There’s a full programme of talks, learning, networking and opportunities to meet other businesses, so plenty of reasons to make a morning of it (link to register on the Festival of Business website!)

This month we’re teaming up with Laura from Remnant Magic again for a relaxed, beginner friendly sewing session, where you’ll make your own insulated mug cosy 🪡☕️

No sewing experience needed. All materials are provided, with plenty of time to get creative, chat, meet others or simply enjoy some quiet crafting.

A little Storybox life update 💚

You may have noticed I’ve been a little quieter around here lately… and there’s a very good reason!

Our little girl, Caoimhe Marie Burns, arrived on 22nd August at 12:12am, weighing a very healthy 8lb 8oz. 🥹🤍
We’re completely besotted and taking a little time to settle into life with our new addition.

But don’t worry, Storybox is in very capable hands! Our brilliant team, with a little help from family and friends behind the scenes, are keeping everything ticking along as usual.

✨ The shop is open as normal
✨ Website orders are being packed and sent
✨ We have a great schedule of workshops coming up, with bookings open right through to December
✨ Corporate gifting enquiries and orders are still being looked after

Slow weekend plans anyone? 🙌🥰

We love when people really take their time around the shop. Embracing all the stories, having a wee smell, reading the labels, taking in the artwork and just having a good old browse without rushing.

If you’re planning a chilled and slow weekend ahead, we’re here for all those relaxed vibes at Storybox. 🫶 Make an afternoon if it with all the other fabulous independents, eateries, coffee and bars around East to explore.

And it also happens to be the fab market across Portview this Sunday, so even more reason to pop down and have a browse of more brilliant creative and small businesses. That's our kinda weekend! 😉

✨ NEW IN THE SHOP ✨

We’re very happy to welcome El Viaje Scents to Storybox 💚

This gorgeous small business was founded by Stephen which he originally started during lockdown as a creative hobby, making candles for friends and family. A few years on, that hobby has grown into a lovely local business inspired by travel and the way certain scents can transport you to different places.

We’ve got a selection of their charcoal incense, room sprays and some of their gorgeous Irish Collection candles in the shop.

We’re big fans of anything that makes your home smell lovely and feel relaxed, and this range definitely does the job. 👌

Pop in and have a wee look (and a sniff!) 💚 Available in store and they'll also be up on our website very soon! The shop front is open for in person browsing right through to Sunday!
