Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold— built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. ... Kintsugi reveals how to heal and shows you that you are better with your golden cracks,” Kumai says. 🎨

I really enjoyed painting this over this past week. Each day i meet so many friends who have been on a very long journey to find safety, community and hope for a new future. Their journeys are long and painful... and I guess this painting is me saying with them, I hope it's almost over... I believe there is a place for you. I cannot understand all that you have been through, but I am hoping with you for the years to come.

Life is a lot fuller these days, but also a lot more colourful and joyful. I painted these linen flowers as a new design for the Esther Truth... "for such a time as this..." This week i have seen all the ways God was preparing me for this new season, in many ways unknown to me... I love the way He does that. We have all we need for the adventures he has for us. I guess thats why he told the disciples to leave everything else behind... or it would be like when you are carrying an unnecessary 'just incase' umbrella on a dry day... just annoying and in the way...?

Boe...
This is a design that I have been painting for quite a while. It is inspired by .ross and her story. The meaning behind the yellow rose is to remember while also saying goodbye. Megan's journey through baby loss is one that she is choosing to share with us all, to encourage and raise awareness, you will get to read her full story very soon. It has been such an honour to paint this design, i look forward to showing more in the coming weeks

Life update!
You may have noticed a little bit of quiet around here and I thought it was time I shared why... I have just started as the Creativity and community coordinator ! If you have followed along here for a while you will know how much I love the Storehouse community, and volunteering there this past couple of years has been the biggest blessing! The creative that I am today is a lot to do with the courage and inspiration I have found in this wonderful communtiy. I am so honoured to be a part of other people's stories as they find a place to call home, people who encourage them and life and purpose as they create in ways only they can! So yes... this page might look a little different and this week I am definitely finding my feet in this new role. But I also very much plan on continuing to create and make, I am so passionate about being creative, and feel more free and excited than ever to do so and inspire others to do the same. I plan on still making what I create available on here too... (probably not as frequent but definitely not never)... Before I started this new role I already started to make some designs that I am still excited to share with you all this summer. Thank you guys for all of your support always, I am so excited for all this next season holds!

I got to make a large macrame for some sweet friends this week! (Thankyou I haven't made one of these since our wedding so it was so fun! I find macrame so peaceful to do, and each piece alsways has a little mind of its own, i think it is a bit like cooking for me... I find my intuition leads me and it is almost impossible to make the exact thing twice! I hope you all have a great Easter and have time to switch off and rest with family ♥️

Hi there!! My name is Aimee and I am the artist round here... this week I have been doing some paintings totally out of my "watercolour botanical comfort zone" so content has been a little lower... I have been feeling a little social media fatigued lately... and was exhausted from measuring my creative worth by numbers of likes (no matter how intentional or confident you are, it feels almost impossible not to do this)🙈 so this week I have been enjoying creating in new ways... I find that when i am doing the thing I do all the time, my personal expectations sky rocket and i become a wild perfectionist... But there is something about trying something new that makes me feel free... the bliss freedom of an amateur just having fun and seeing what happens... if you struggle with social media fatigue or feeling low about what you create and put out into the world via social, then please please hear this....1, please don't measure your worth as a creative by the number of likes you get or how many followers you have... you are worth way way more than that....2, go do something that is fun and ungraded... make a gift for someone you love... paint something that inspires or means something to you AND maybe even TRY something NEW... be an amateur and embrace learning a new thing, just have fun and see what happens...

"Within the grip of winter, it is almost impossible to imagine the spring. The gray perished landscape is shorn of color. Only bleakness meets the eye; everything seems severe and edged. Winter is the oldest season; it has some quality of the absolute. Yet beneath the surface of winter, the miracle of spring is already in preparation; the cold is relenting; seeds are wakening up. Colors are beginning to imagine how they will return. Then, imperceptibly, somewhere one bud opens and the symphony of renewal is no longer reversible. From the black heart of winter a miraculous, breathing plenitude of color emerges." - John odonohue - the blessing if change.

Last night on pottery throw down, the winner jodie said: "you believed in me, so i knew i could." I love this... creating is empowering, life giving and full of purpose. However, sometimes to get started we need to know that there is someone somewhere who is believing in us. We need to know someone is believing the world is better just because you create something unique that no one else can, because no one else is you. Let's be people who have people around us who say: "you believed in me, so i knew i could." This is my hope.
