I often get asked why we aren’t open on a Monday? And in fact, every single Monday without fail, we find out we have disappointed someone who has turned up without checking out opening hours first.

This morning I met a lady at the shutter who desperately needed something and hadn’t thought that we might be closed (of course I helped her out)

Here are the reasons we close:
✅ We all need 2 days off in a row to tend to our own lives
✅ Wholesaler visits - ingredients & consumables
✅ I have 10 hives to tend to - this can take 2 days sometimes
✅ Quite often I’ll be in the shop at some point getting caught up on something in the quietude
✅ Some ingredients we use are better worked with when there nobody in

Today I was piping 240 face creams.
