❤️ Woven into the fabric of our community for 41 years… thank you. ❤️
Yesterday, after 41 incredible years, we closed the doors of Sew ‘n’ Sew for the very last time.
When we first opened our little shop, we could never have imagined the journey that lay ahead. What started as a leap of faith to provide for our young family grew into a lifetime of memories, friendships and community. Sew ‘n’ Sew has never just been a business to us—it has been our second home, and so many of you have become part of our extended family.
Being a family-run business has always been at the heart of everything we do. Over the years, all of our children have worked alongside us—Patricia, Danielle and Dean—and more recently our grandchildren, Brad and Mia, have carried on that tradition. From serving customers to unpacking deliveries, dressing windows and lending a hand wherever it was needed, this shop has always been a true family affair.
We have also been incredibly lucky to have had wonderful people work alongside us over the years. A special thank you to Wee Charley, Kerry-Anne and Kerri. Your loyalty, friendship and hard work have meant the world to us, and you have each become part of our family.
The love we have been shown over these past few weeks has been overwhelming. The cards, messages, flowers, gifts, visits and hugs have touched us more than words can ever say. Seeing so many familiar faces calling in for one last browse, one last chat or simply to say goodbye has reminded us just how fortunate we have been. It has truly felt as though the heart of our community has been beating a little louder, and we will never forget the kindness you have shown us.
To every customer who has walked through our doors over the last 41 years—whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or only recently discovered us—thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your kindness and your friendship. You gave this little shop its heart, and we will cherish the memories we’ve made together forever.
While it’s difficult to say goodbye, we do so with full hearts. We now hand over the reins and would like to wish the new hotel every success as they begin their own journey in this space. We hope they enjoy the same warmth and support from this wonderful community that we have been so blessed to receive.
As we tie off the final thread, we do so with hearts full of gratitude.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives for the last 41 years. We leave with nothing but gratitude, wonderful memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
