❗️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT❗️
It’s time to say goodbye to Edinburgh.
Since we first opened the doors of what was then called Mound Books, back in October 2019, our purpose has always been to glorify the Lord and point others to Him.
We also longed to serve God’s Church family by providing resources for pastors/ministers, Sunday schools, and theological students working particularly close with our friends at Edinburgh Theological Seminary.
Throughout the last seven years the Lord has blessed the work and witness of our Edinburgh shop immensely with sales and footfall increasing every year, at many times even surpassing our own expectations!
Despite rising footfall and sales over the last seven years, one burden that has increasingly loomed large is our rental overheads.
It has become clear to us over the last 12 months or so, that the sizeable rental increases has made it financially unfeasible to continue to operate our Edinburgh shop.
So it is my sad duty to announce that Evangelical Book Shop Edinburgh will be permanently closing on Friday 7th August 2026.
In preparation for this our Edinburgh shop will temporarily close from this Friday (29th May) to enable us to prepare for a closing sale which will take place from Monday 22nd June - Friday 7th August.
More details on the extra special sale discounts will be announced in due course.
We’re pleased to say, out of God’s providence, that no staff members will be made redundant over this closure as our Edinburgh manager David Mayes will be leaving these shores to pursue further theological studies in Singapore.
All the EBS team wish him well in his Asian adventures!
Thank you to all our valued customers, friends and supporters who have visited, prayed for and of course purchased books from our Edinburgh shop, your support has been invaluable to us.
But don’t panic too much!…you can still find us online at evangelicalbooks.com where the range of books stocked in Edinburgh will continue to be available at the same incredible prices. You can also visit our Belfast flagship shop and find us at various conferences across the UK!
Perhaps this is not the last time that there will be a physical Evangelical Book Shop branch on the UK mainland, only the Lord in His sovereign will knows, but for now it’s time to say…goodbye Edinburgh, and God bless.
Every blessing.
William
General Manager, Evangelical Book Shop
