As we approach the summer solstice, it feels special to share a poem saved from the calendar from 2021. As one of our local cooperatives, who release their new diary and calendar every year at the solstice; they have been a great source of inspiration and wisdom over the years. Our thanks to the nourishment of creativity and connection to the land, so that we may all remember to cherish our privilege and freedoms.

Despite facing pressures and uncertainty and perhaps feeling powerless at times,

We,
The People
Who know
We are Nature
Too

Can always
Find a moment
In every day to remember:

“Breath of life animates me. Flame of creation inspires me. The circle of life holds me. The four directions point me. Spirit ancestors surround me. Earth Mother feeds me. Quiet peace flows through me. In the magic of existence. “ ( Susan Latchford)

What a wonderful weekend, if a bit cloudy and windy!💚😉

A huge thanks to all our members and supporters for helping to put together our best stall ever and engaging with the visitors to Belper’s amazing eco festival hosted by .

We encouraged supporters to join our Sharing Club with a £3 per month donation to empower us to bring back the inctedible ‘Sharing not Wasting’ project first started by Sue MacFarlane in 2018, who also founded the original zero waste shop, Sue’s Sustainables, that became Eartharmony in 2020.

Since evolving into a co-operative society and moving to a larger premises in 2024, 30 different worker members have invested time, skills, resources, passion and energy towards our shared vision of a fairer future.

We now need to gather feedback from our wider community through a community consultation and welcome monthly supporters through our Sharing projects.

We have big plans, but we need people who care to help us with a small monthly contribution to keep going day-to-day; and get as involved as you can!

Our target is to have at least 1000 Sharing members by the end of the summer - for just £3 a month you can help us make a real difference:

What does it mean to you to be ‘One in a thousand’?

And what would you like to Share going forward?

What a wonderfully cool evening at the shop - many thanks to everyone supporting our Tuesday community evenings. Many thanks to Victoria, one of our founder members, who trained our newest worker member Poppy on the till - it’s so lovely to have such a close-knit community.

We managed to finish a few jobs making space in our cafe area and mopping the floors - and the freezer is in place thanks to Zoe and Rachel lending a hand - so it could be ready for Booja Booja ice creams being delivered tomorrow!

We are open 12-6 on Wednesdays- see you then 🤗💚

The shop will be open this evening 6-8pm, so do pop in then - we have a fabulous group of local ladies ready to pamper you while I refill your containers! 💚

Art today, poetry tomorrow…

We had a lovely time welcoming so many visitors over the weekend - and we look forward to continue making our building a more and more welcoming place where we can support each other in many ways…

Tomorrow evening you can join Kelly for a poetry focused gathering - there will be space for informal sharing and discussion, time to write with creative prompts; or just share poems you have already written.

We are now selling tickets on our website for our events, to raise funds for our new community kitchen. £5 concessions, £10 full price. Your ticket includes a hot drink.

Ticket link in the comments.

See you tomorrow evening!
