Hey you Lovely lot β€οΈ Sooo... I just wanted to chat a little bit about Ai. WARNING! This is a loooong post and I totally understand you may not want to read this on a Sunday eve! but if I don't do this now it'll go out my head π and if you want to read on then stick with me π......So Ai has become a big part of our lives and let's be honest we all use it in some way or other right? and nobody really 'likes' Ai BUT it helps us heaps. We can create a poster that beautifully shows our work, we can put our own work into a better perspective, strip cluttered backgrounds etc that I admit I use it for, we can do customer visuals when they ask for a picture of something we may not have created yet but can do 'IN REALITY' and this is the key word! 'IN REALITY'
I have had a huge increase of images sent to me recently asking if I can create the same as the image given. 80% of the time yes I can π the other 20% no I sadly can't π and here's why...
Balloons.... Balloons shown in an Ai image are often well known characters, a certain theme or colour that simply are not even available to buy in the whole entire world! Trust me I've spent many hours searching. I will always come up with an alternative idea for you.
Structure....A great balloon display needs building and a lot of intricate work in some cases. An Ai generated 'Structure' can be an impossible build. The way the balloons sit, the actual look of the balloon itself that aren't even available to buy.
Quality....The quality of balloons shown in 'ALL' Ai images are very high end looking. This of course is possible but will be a high end cost to you. To keep the endless shine on balloons will need specialised products. Some colours shown on images you can't simply buy so they will need (what us balloon artists call) double stuffing (doesn't sound right I know π ) Double stuffing is like mixing paint. To get the desired colour you may need 2 or sometimes more balloons to create the colour needed. This means at least double the balloons are needed to create the look.
Quantity....This is a good one...so for example you see on Amazon (for example) a beautiful balloon arch, the cost is amazing π€© maybe Β£11.99 for the balloons, bargain you think? STOP! you will get a very maximum 110 balloons, this will no where near create what you see in the picture, try tripling it or more AND the balloons sent are thin almost translucent. They generally pop on inflation and look nowhere near the colour you thought! Trust me I know as I have tried and tested.
Floating.... Another good one! You see BIG clear balloons all lit up with pretty lights looking absolutely gorgeous floating around. This is almost impossible unless on a stand or so packed with helium which will again cost you as helium prices have gone through the bloody roof the same as every other gas! Lights will weight the balloon down and will not float! well not for long anyway as helium is lighter than air and escapes very quickly out of balloons. The only option is to put these on a supporting stand.
Time....With any balloon structure if it's possible to do, it may look like a relatively simple structure, but look closer, beading, plaits, bows all take time to create and so much time fixing them in place. Balloons also need to be the EXACT inflated size that requires a balloon sizer tool, so each balloon basically needs to be measured before putting into place otherwise the structure won't sit right, or most cases won't sit at all, it will just fall over!
So I think that's all off my chest π just felt it had to be explained to justify my responses to request and my prices.
I will always be honest with my customers and will say if I can create the picture sent to the exact or if not very similar.
Thank you all for reading this if you've made it to the end?
Denise
