This month we’re delighted to introduce you to Tania of Painted House Kent.

Tania has been dealing for over 20 years, with a wonderful eye for quality furniture, the potential hidden in a neglected piece, and the stories old things carry with them.

From a £10 chair that became a £1,500 find to the Clarice Cliff mishap that ended her ceramics career rather abruptly, we loved getting to know a little more about the woman behind Tania Noble | Sustainable Furniture Painter Kent.

JOIN OUR COMMUNITY

We’re looking for experienced antique and vintage dealers to join us at Berkhamsted Antiques & Vintage Market, with a few spaces currently available.

More than anything, we’re looking for people who love what they do — friendly, knowledgeable dealers who take pride in their stalls, enjoy meeting customers and want to be part of a genuinely supportive community of fellow traders.

Now in our fifth year, Berkhamsted is a well-established monthly market held on the town’s beautiful High Street, surrounded by wonderful independent shops, cafés and eateries.

We’re incredibly well supported by our local community, as well as visitors who travel from near and far to spend the day browsing, buying and enjoying Berkhamsted.

We have indoor and outdoor pitches, with gazebos encouraged outdoors. You can join us as a casual trader for the dates that suit you, or apply for a regular monthly pitch and become part of our market throughout the year.

First Sunday of every month

THANK YOU, BERKHAMSTED 🤍

Yesterday felt like a really special day.

To everyone who came along to shop, browse, chat and support our wonderful dealers — we’re so grateful. Seeing the High Street and Civic Centre busy with people hunting for something special is always a joy.

But what struck us most yesterday was the wonderful sense of community that has grown around this market.

There is genuine care here. Our dealers look out for one another, lend a hand when it’s needed and take enormous pride in creating beautiful, interesting stalls. Behind the antiques and vintage treasures are friendships, kindness, plenty of banter and a real feeling that everyone belongs.

Yesterday seemed to capture all of that perfectly. There was so much laughter and such a happy, easy atmosphere — people enjoying the market, enjoying each other’s company and simply having a jolly good day together.

A market is ultimately about its people, and we feel incredibly lucky to have such a warm and caring bunch at the heart of ours.

Our dealers, our visitors, our regulars and those discovering us for the first time all help make Berkhamsted what it is.

We’ll be back next month to do it all again.

IT’S MARKET DAY!

Berkhamsted Antiques & Vintage Market is back today, and our wonderful dealers are arriving with vans full of treasures.

Come and enjoy a relaxed Sunday browsing more than 50 stalls packed with antiques, vintage finds, collectables, jewellery, art, textiles, furniture and all sorts of things you never knew you needed until you spotted them.

You’ll find us along Berkhamsted High Street and across the road inside the Civic Centre.

If you haven’t made plans for today, you have now!

Head into Berkhamsted, grab a coffee, enjoy a rummage through the market, stop for lunch and take a wander around the brilliant independent shops along the High Street. There are some things you simply won’t find on the High Street…

A painting that’s already lived a life. A slightly wonky old pot. A beautiful piece of silver. A chair with just the right amount of wear. Something handmade a hundred years ago. Or that wonderfully peculiar thing you didn’t know you needed until you spotted it on a stall.

That’s the joy of buying antique and vintage. No two market days are ever quite the same, and you never really know what you’re going to find.

And, rather wonderfully, you’ll find all of this right in the middle of Berkhamsted High Street.
