A little weekend of beginnings.

After months of paint, dust, moving boxes and the slow business of making a new shop our own, Town House has opened its doors.

We’ve been bowled over by the loveliest welcome. So many familiar faces we’ve missed over the past few months, alongside new ones discovering us for the first time. It was wonderful to see you all.

A particular highlight was having SJ Axelby with us to share her beautiful new book, and to spend a little time together among the flowers, found objects and new beginnings.

There is still plenty to do here. Boxes to unpack, things to find their places, and corners to settle into. But that’s part of the pleasure of a new shop.

Thank you for coming to see us, for all the kind words and for making our first weekend at Town House feel so special.

On Saturday 12th September, we’re so pleased to welcome SJ Axelby, illustrator, author and friend of Cook & Butler, to our new home.

SJ will be signing her beautiful new book, Seasonal Living, chatting about the ideas and inspirations behind it and, if we’re lucky, perhaps even painting with us. Inspired by the delicate violas on the cover, we’ll also have Audrey’s famous Milk & Dark Violet Creams in a special box designed by SJ, alongside violet stationery and potted plants.

Come and explore Town House, meet SJ and have a wander through our new rooms, filled with antiques, objects, flowers and the things that make a house feel like home. We really can’t wait to welcome you.

Goodbye Lower Kings Road. As we prepare for an exciting new chapter, Cook & Butler will close at 3pm on Sunday 2nd August.

After four wonderful years, we’ll be packing up our little shop and beginning the move to our beautiful new home in Berkhamsted, ready to welcome you this September.

While our shop is closed, you’ll still be able to shop with us online, and we’ll be sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes updates as we bring the new space to life.

To everyone who has visited, shopped with us and supported us over the past four years, thank you. Our little shop has been the start of something incredibly special, and we’ll always be grateful for the memories made within its walls.

If you’d like to visit us one last time on Lower Kings Road, we’d love to see you before we close our doors on Sunday.

To make that possible, our opening hours will be changing for the summer.

Friday to Sunday
Open as usual.

Monday to Thursday
Closed while we build what’s next.

If you need us during the week, simply send us a message. Whether it’s a last-minute gift, a favourite candle, or something you’ve been meaning to collect, we’ll happily open by appointment where we can.

We’re delighted to introduce our new collection of handcrafted desk and stationery pieces, made exclusively for Cook & Butler in England using our signature marbled paper designs created by Payhembury Papers.

From keepsake boxes and notebooks to pen pots and waste paper bins, each piece brings a little everyday joy to desks, studies, and creative corners.

They also make thoughtful gifts. A keepsake box is a wonderful wedding present for storing cards, photographs, and mementoes from the day, while a notebook or pen pot makes a considered Father’s Day gift for those who still appreciate putting pen to paper.
