I just made my first ever closed-lid terrarium and loved the process 🥹 using leca, charcoal, sphagnum moss & terrarium soil - all available in the shop from tomorrow! I found the glass container from our local sally army and extracted the plants from another terrarium that didn’t arrive uhhh intact 🫣

this guy I’m keeping for me but my future plan is to host drop-in workshops where you can show up on the day to join in and make your own. I’m hoping to find other glass vessels second-hand or people can bring their own - think of all those empty kilner jars at the back of your cupboard! and for a small fee fill it up. like a planty pick n mix

I’ve added some new stock tonight that I got home to, cards and coaster from (aka the best cards ever) and a gorg book top up as I almost sold out on my launch.

a few things not on the website at the moment, plants and breakable items (pots & mugs). if you’re wanting to do local pick up for any of these items I’m sure that can be arranged!

for gift wrap instead of selling folded sheets I’m doing a gift wrap ✨service✨ where I will wrap your gifts if they’re heading straight to the recipient for a spesh occasion, all details for that are on the website.

I’ve got the day off today and I’m working on my website, I’m aiming for tomorrow eve but I’ll see how I get on. I might do an early launch. just an fyi I won’t be stocking plants or pots online currently, and I will just be posting to within the UK

I thought I would actually do a little intro post with my face here, so hello all I’m Meg 👋🏻 I’m in my late 20s living just across the border in scotland. I still live at home with my mum as I have M.E so I rely on her quite a bit, but I’ve felt ready enough mentally & physically to do something for myself. I have up until this point been unemployed but doing my art on the side, and if you’ve read the article (which I hope you have!) I have done a couple of years volunteering in Puddles where I stocked my embroidery.

Home is, some of you will know, a cattery where we work round the clock looking after cats and small animals who are on holiday. I never really have a ‘day off’ as we work all year round, even on christmas day.

I’m hugely inspired by nature and botanicals, an animal lover, I even like bugs, insects, spiders and I’m always saving any critters I find. I do find plants quite amazing but I am allergic to pollen, grass and trees so although I admire gardening, I can’t do it myself. Houseplants wise, I am still learning as I go! I’ve taken a special interest in terrariums and one of my shop goals is to build my own from scratch - I hope in the future to host workshops so let me know if this is something you’d be interested in! 🌵🌱🐸

I’m pretty sure every plant in my shop has new leaves unfurling which is so exciting! my main worry with the shop was no natural light, but I’ve got grow lights on mimicking natural sunlight and so far the plants seem to be fine. saying this, I would absolutely love for them to find their new homes! 🌱

I still have monkey monsteras, devils ivy, syngoniums, climbing begonia, thai constellation monstera and my gorgeous giant bird of paradise

🪱 opening hours 🪱

I’m trialing later opening hours for the rest of the week, 12-4 tues, weds and thurs, closed on fridays and 10-4 sat 🌱 these might change when I launch my online shop at the weekend but for now, a slow morning at home 🐌

I know there’s been a few comments about outdoor signage on the building to make it clearer where I am. I am aware and it is completely out of my hands. If you can’t buy anything from me (or the other indies in the market) then please share my posts, believe me it goes a long way, thank you 💗
