Our exclusive new run of Peco 009 coaches in classic chocolate & cream Great Western livery is now in stock!

The freelance livery design is based on authentic practice for the late 1930s/early 1940s. Featuring black ends and wooden window frame detail, with a third class designation.

The first 009 products from Rapido Trains UK are nearly here, with projected availability in Q3 (July - September) 2026 – dependent on international shipping of course. Rapido has just dropped some photos of the production samples of both the long and short tank Kerr, Stuart Sirdar 0-4-0T, and I'm sure you'll agree they're looking rather lovely.

We still have very limited availability to pre-order at LRS - plus you can now add on fitting of custom etched nameplates and hand-finished weathering by James Hilton Custom Model Railways.

You can now select to have your Rapido Trains UK Peckett "Cranmore" pre-order personalised with fitted custom etched nameplates, and/or weathering by our very own James Hilton Custom Model Railways. Using Humbrol enamels he creates his own colours and shades and uses a combination of washes and airbrushing to breathe life and character in to your model. This is a batch process and will add up to around 2 weeks on to the dispatch of pre-ordered models.

We can offer supply and fitting of custom etched nameplates and a weathering service to certain pre-ordered models. Kits shown are all available from stock - we should be able to expand on this if there is anything particular you would like to see!

With the Rapido 009 goods stock incoming, we thought it was time to revive a previous commission...

Back in 2019 we offered a freelance – but authentic – GWR chocolate and cream livery on the PECO Model Railways Glyn Valley Tramway coach in 009. After an appearance in the display case at NG South on Saturday we're pleased to say it's back, and available to pre-order now with delivery expected in June/July.

Priced at £38 for single coach or £72 for a pair, including UK delivery, this will be the perfect addition for a mixed-train on your GWR-inspired narrow gauge railway.

Announced yesterday at the Narrow Gauge South exhibition, Rapido Trains UK has unveiled an exciting new addition for narrow-gauge enthusiasts. Based on Peckett & Sons of Bristol’s Cranmore Class—a catalogue design developed from their renowned industrial locomotives—this 0-4-0 saddle tank traces its origins back to 1904, when the first example was built for the Mendip Granite & Asphalt Company before going on to see further variations exported worldwide.

Now recreated in 009, this highly detailed model combines authentic design with smooth, reliable performance. Available in a variety of liveries and with both DCC-ready and DCC-fitted options, it also features easy maintenance access and a range of optional detail parts for added customisation—making it a versatile and eye-catching addition to any layout.

Accompanying the new loco is a further set of three vehicles in the All-Purpose 009 wagon range - a wooden-bodied hopper, rectangular tank wagon, and high ended open.

Exciting times here at LRS Towers as we can now show you the final production samples of our exclusive GWR livered in 009 from the upcoming Rapido Trains UK range.

We are heading back to our home territory for our first-ever round-ended OO Gauge wagon announcement!

The SER/SECR 5-Plank 10 Ton Open Wagon.

This builds on our SECR range and will include two new diagrams (SR D1340/ D1341) and three different wagon body types.

We are also pleased to announce a new batch of SECR 6-wheel Brake Vans to go alongside them. This batch brings some new liveries and the addition of single-ended vans into the main range.

This Saturday, we will be heading to our first Narrow Gauge South show.

We have leapt into narrow gauge ready-to-run models with both feet first, and it appears to have gone down rather well. So, we are incredibly excited to be attending the show and speaking to all of you about all things 009 and more!
