🚴 August? More Like Awheelgust! 🚴

We're back in the saddle with another fantastic month of rides!

This time the peloton is being expertly led by the newly repaired Sam Smith, who's officially back in action. Meanwhile, Sam Messenger has been firmly instructed to put her feet up while we keep her wrapped in cotton wool and safely away from anything remotely accident-shaped. We're hoping her only spills from now on involve coffee or beer?

Kicking things off is our ever-popular Social Ride on Saturday 08th, followed by a special Eclipse Ride on the 12th, where we'll head up to Brill Hill to catch the celestial show.

Then we've got a brilliant selection of rides hosted by the wonderful Ros, including a Thursday evening gravel adventure and a Friday Women's Only Social Ride. Finally a Sunday session on the Mountain Bikes!!!

We'll be riding out to Brill Hill to watch the eclipse together. Lights are mandatory, as it'll be getting dark during the ride home—and we'd quite like everyone to remain visible unlike the Sun ☀️

This Friday, Trek is hosting a women-only beginner road ride designed to help you build confidence, learn the ropes, and discover just how much fun riding together can be.

Our experienced all-round cycling superstar, Ros, will be leading the ride, sharing advice and making sure everyone feels welcome.

This Thursday: The Gravel Ride with Ros 🚴‍♂️

Why choose sides when you can ride the coolest side?

Road bikes are all about shaving grams and comparing sock heights.

Mountain bikes? Brilliant, if your idea of relaxation involves bouncing off rocks.

But gravel... gravel is where the effortlessly cool riders live. Fast enough to leave the roadies wondering where you disappeared to, refined enough to glide past the mountain bikers without looking like you've just survived a downhill crash.

Join Ros this Thursday for a Gravel ride – around 40km of dusty tracks, crunchy gravel lanes, and blissfully quiet country roads. It's the perfect mix of adventure, scenery, and just enough grit to earn bragging rights without needing a full suspension bike.

We'll roll out from the Trek Store and, more importantly, roll back into the Trek Store, where the air conditioning will be cranked up to Arctic levels, ready to reward your heroic efforts.

Come for the ride. Stay for the gravel glory. Leave with significantly more cool points than you arrived with.

Another cracking Saturday Social Ride and Run at Trek! 🚴☀️

This week's social ride rolled out from the Trek Store under the expert guidance of the less injured of the two Sams (Ribs taped up)

The destination? The ever-reliable George & Dragon in Quainton for the all-important coffee and cake stop. With the only female rider in the group, Sam wasn't about to let the lads have it all their own way. Making the most of well-timed slipstreaming (why fight the wind when you can let someone else do it?), she comfortably held the pace, took some strong turns on the front, and proved she was more than capable of keeping the boys honest.

After a well-earned refuel at the George & Dragon, the group headed back towards the Trek Store. The return leg featured the usual ingredients of any good social ride: a couple of punctures, some "creative" communication that may or may not have confused everyone, and somehow the entire group managed to dodge the chaos of the British Grand Prix traffic. A victory in itself!

Meanwhile, while the cyclists were busy debating whose turn it was on the front, Jenny and the Run Club were quietly getting on with yet another successful monthly run.

Coffee was consumed, miles were banked, laughs were had, and nobody got left behind (well... not for long).

Another cracking Thursday night gravel ride in the bag! The sun was relentless, the dust was everywhere, and the post-ride drinks somehow tasted like they'd been brewed by angels.

It turns out Trek Milton Keynes aren’t just putting on a social ride—they’re throwing a rolling birthday party to celebrate 50 years of Trek Bikes! 🎂🚴

And who’s leading the charge? None other than store manager Chris, which pretty much guarantees good company, great roads, and at least a few questionable cycling jokes along the way.

🚴‍♂️ Thursday Night Gravel Ride Recap 🚴‍♀️

In all the excitement from Sunday, we completely missed the Thursday night gravel summary… so unapologetically, here it is! 😅

There’s just something special about warm summer evenings on gravel. Twelve riders rolled out into the Oxfordshire countryside, soaking up golden-hour views, endless tracks and trails, and plenty of four-legged spectators along the way 🐑🐄🐇.

From wide-open farm roads to winding bridleways, we cruised through 25 miles of classic gravel goodness. There were a few bridge crossings, the obligatory ford splash (because what’s a gravel ride without getting at least slightly wet?), and enough stunning scenery to make us forget our legs were working.

As the sun dipped lower and the shadows stretched longer than our ride leader’s route briefing, we wrapped things up in the best possible way — with a well-earned beer at The Trigger Pond 🍻

A huge thanks to everyone who joined us for another cracking evening on the trails.

Wow, what a day! 🚴‍♀️

We only went and spent the morning riding with none other than Lizzie Deignan, showing her the finest leafy lanes Oxfordshire has to offer.

Thanks to the expert planning from Trek Bicester, invited riders enjoyed a fantastic spin with the former World Champion, chatting about all things cycling while rolling through some stunning countryside.

No pressure on Lizzie, but we think she was struggling to keep up with some of the local legends... 😉

Back at the Trek store, we were treated to a lunch that can only be described as "M&S-level luxury", followed by a brilliant Q&A session with Lizzie herself, sharing stories, insights and plenty of laughs.

There were goody bags galore, signed photos, and lots of opportunities for a chat. Most importantly, Lizzie was gently reminded just how honoured she should feel to have been invited on a Trek Bicester Social Ride. After all, world titles are one thing, but a Trek Bicester social ride?

That's the real pinnacle of cycling. 😆

A huge thank you to Lizzie and everyone who helped make it such a memorable day!
