Regent Classic Organs - UHT Keyboard options

Our keyboards are available in a range of styles, sizes, weights and finishes, including a wide range of wood options. Since the feel of each keyboard and its action are important to the control of the instrument, we select only the finest components to ensure the touch is consistent, comfortable and, most of all, rewarding to play.

We work closely with Ulrich Hermann Tastaturbau (UHT) in Germany, and offer their premium keyboards as an option in all Regent Classic custom-designed instruments. UHT are world renowned experts in the design of tracker touch keyboard mechanisms for digital and pipe organs. Their keyboards are the ultimate luxury option, highly regarded by professional organists, and used by traditional pipe organ-builders worldwide.

UHT keyboards can be supplied in a wide range of finishes, adding significantly to the appearance and individuality of your instrument. Regardless of your choice of keyboard style, our designers will ensure that it fits seamlessly into your overall final design.

A closer look at craftsmanship on a cathedral scale.

๐ŸŽผOpportunity to purchase a rare and exceptional organ console ๐ŸŽน

This unique organ console was installed in the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford in the late 90's but recently removed from the building. It was cutting edge in 1999 using technology developed by Bradford University graduates.

This old Bradford organ console is now available for purchase with proceeds going to Oxford University to support the organ scholars. It offers a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional quality platform from one of the landmark buildings in British History. It has been played by many world famous musicians. These include Simon Preston, David Briggs, Dr Joseph Nolan and Anna Lapwood.

The instrument has an adjustable music desk and bench. Wonderful quality solid wood based keyboards and a 32 note radiating concave pedal board. Removal from the Sheldonian Theatre unfortunately caused some small damage to the left side terrace which can be invisibly repaired. Matching veneered wooden sides can be made to allow the console to be free standing. It was built into the wall structure at the Sheldonian.

The Bradford electronics are beyond repair so today this is a silent console. We would be delighted to discuss with interested parties a proposal to install new electronics and a new instrument specification or indeed 4 specifications, to bring this instrument back to full working life.

This console was built by a master craftsman for a hugely significant building and important ceremonial use. It offers a unique opportunity to provide the most spectacular of home instruments, or maybe a concert hall or church will embark on the journey of restoration.
