Day 8 - Learning Curve

I guess one of the learning curves was launching during the lockdown time! I launched Gifted By HJ in December 2020 after quite a challenging year in business.
I was overwhelmed by the support from friends, family and past customers and so grateful. When you’re a small business, every order that comes in really does make you do a little happy dance!

Making, packaging and sending out orders makes me really happy and it was so, so good to have a little structure and purpose to the day again.

The challenge is keeping it fresh and keeping up the momentum, there is so much to think about, but I am a great lover of lists and take great enjoyment checking things off.

Day 4 - On my desk

On my desk today are these Amazonite gold earrings as I’m just going through my current stock. The colour and freshness of these is so lovely. I am so blessed to have 2 desks in my studio now, one to create on and one to wrap, pack and do all my digital/website tasks. It certainly makes life easier and gives me a little more variety during the day! When you’re self employed you have to think of such things!

I am blessed to have such an amazing view (swipe across) which never gets boring! The farmer opposite has just released all his sheep onto the field and the little baby lambs are just too cute for words!

Personal, meaningful and special.

My values at Gifted are to do everything in a way that makes it personal, meaningful and special! Both for the person who is purchasing the gift, and also for the person who is receiving it.

In my world, little touches have great impact. Therefore great care is taken in the selection and presentation of each jewellery gift. Those little cards and hand-written tags show that time and love has gone into each and every order!

I’m a details girl and I try to deliver on ‘every little detail’.

My packaging is eco friendly and recyclable, from a UK based company. I am looking at ways to make the business more eco friendly.

My aim is to delight each and every customer, and I’m so blessed that I have the nicest customers some of whom come back again and again to buy gifts, many I have got to know quite well now, which is lovely.

To me, business is not simply about making money to pay the bills. It’s about meeting peoples needs and providing a genuine, friendly and memorable service.

Day 2 - Style

My style for jewellery is pretty varied to be honest. On the whole I would say it is understated, subtle and very wearable, rather than loud and ‘statement-y’.

I do love little pops of colour in jewellery especially blues, greens and turquoise, and I love to work with natural gemstones, pearl, Swarovski elements and sea glass.

I think for me it’s the wonderfully tactile nature of these elements along with the way the light catches them or shines through them.

They often reflect nature, stars, moons, flowers and natural stones, along with some hearts and silver textured pieces and framed cut stones.

Gifted by HJ is all about affordable jewellery that you can love wearing or enjoy gifting!
