St. Valentine isn’t just about chocolates, cards, and romance. Long before modern Valentine’s Day became what it is today, St. Valentine was associated with care, devotion, protection, and compassion.

Back in 496 A.D., St. Valentine was named the patron saint of beekeepers. And honestly… it makes sense.

Beekeeping isn’t about grand gestures.
It’s about:
🐝Caring for something fragile
🐝Protecting life that sustains others
🐝Showing up, consistently and gently
That’s the kind of “love” this is about.

So when you see St. Valentine connected to beekeeping around Valentine’s Day, it’s not about hearts and candy — it’s about recognizing the quiet, devoted work beekeepers do for their bees.

Different kind of love.
Same heart behind it. 🐝💛

This honey was both poured on the same day, both from the same hive. It's been really cold lately however and you can see the smaller jar on the left has set. Honey naturally granulates, the temperature however in lower temperatures especially 10-15°C speed up crystal formation, making it thick and solid, which is a sign of purity, not spoilage, with raw honey granulating more readily due to pollen particles. Storing it warm 21°C keeps it liquid longer, however if your honey does set and you want it liquid (set is great for spreading on toast) then simply gently warm the honey as per the instructions on the back of the jar.
