I’ve just finished a refret and some other bits on this lightly used/lovingly thrashed Edward Krištůfek mandolin for the beautiful beast that is Hippy Joe. He will be knocking seven bales out of it again on .dixie ‘s new tour, which kicks off next week in Norway.

And yes, I checked my tetanus shots are up to date, we are all good 😜

I thought really hard about posting this and put it off for a long time. I decided it’s worth sharing though, as there’s a lesson in here about aging for all of us - you can quite literally hear the realisation of it hitting me.
Anyway, a cool little mando that deserved and needed some love, and I was glad to be able to do that.

Just finishing up installation of this gorgeous MyTremR on George’s Jackson (yes, you can install them on a Floyd equipped guitar, even with a recess, if you know what you’re doing).

I’ve set this up so the wound strings are unaffected by the trem, while the plain strings can be pitched up/down for perfectly in tune chords. I expect that will change in time but it’s a fun place to start playing with what this masterpiece of guitar engineering can do 😊

I’m really excited to be able to say I’ve been appointed as a demonstrator/installer for the amazing MayTrem vibrato systems!
There will be much more to come on this, including demos and some instruction videos, so I need to get cracking with the demo build.
