Ginkos have been here on Earth for a very long time (200 million years), but they're new stock to us here at The Secret Garden. They've remained almost unchanged for millions of years, with their iconic fan shape that turns a stunning golden-yellow in autumn, and often all at once for a dramatic leaf-drop! Say hello to our home-grown Pittosporum, nurtured right here at The Secret Garden! There's something special about plants raised on-site, they're stronger, more resilient, and better for planting out. You can trust that they've been looked after and loved, and this glossy, compact beauty is one we're especially proud of.

Pittosporum is brilliant as hedging, topiary, or simply as a striking evergreen specimen in a border or pot.

Looking for a plant that flowers for months on end? Let us introduce you to Liam's friend Phygelius...

Native to South Africa, this striking perennial produces clusters of elegant, tubular flowers in shades of coral orange, red wine, and yellow, held on tall, graceful stems above dark green foliage. They're a magnet for bees and hawk-moths, bringing your garden to life all summer long (flowering right through to autumn).

Phygelius is tougher than it looks too, with a bit of winter protection (a good mulch does the trick), this friend will come back to visit bigger and better year after year.

Although our pots are beautiful, they're only made and brought for aesthetic. Getting the right pot makes a world of difference, draining, shape, size and material are all factors that will make your plants and their roots happy. We're always happy to help, so next time you're here, don't be shy and ask for our advice! 😊
