UPDATE 2024
In 2012 when we started Back in the Day re-enactment furniture, we had a small Viking tent with 1 table and an awning. We chose 3 Core areas of the business: -
• ROGANN’S HANDMADE RE-ENACTMENT FURNITURE
• Replica items for living history LHE and souvenirs.
• HOME AND GARDEN
This includes Upcycled, second-hand, bought in crafts, vintage and antique items. In 2023 Our daughter created a
4 Th Core area: -
• Horror and sci fi collectables
Within our Little Tent of Horrors
We now have 2 bespoke made trading tents for 2024 and onwards. We still sell items on all the core ranges and have expanded many to cover client requests. Many items we first sold are sadly no longer available, but we try to stock similar ideas. We still buy in old used kit and stock for resale. We have had hiccups in 2020 with Covid stopping events and then Rogann becoming seriously ill. We currently use over fifty suppliers to try to keep the range interesting and prices competitive................
It is important for both my partner and I to keep alive the historical heritage of English and British culture within our hobby and our business -thus gaining a better understanding of what we do and who we are. Not so long ago The great British oak tree played a great part in the building of our country. Many parts of the world looked to Britain to lead the way in trade:- an industry which now sadly has been lost (along with many other traditional crafts once common on the highstreet )with the onset of the industrial revolution and the resulting international import of third world goods. Our increasingly throw away society has become too set in its ways and I believe the impact on green issues and global recession has only be negative. By encouraging people to buy British made items, and second-hand quality items at a fair price we can turn the tide and support the key issues of today . In short we want to give something back to society. To preserve knowledge and culture for the generations to come by getting back to traditional values and in doing so enjoy our work and lives and pass the happiness on.
