BASC urged Defra to give people more time to respond to the call for evidence. Defra said no.

The deadline has not moved. The call for evidence closes at midnight on 1 November.
That leaves us with just over two weeks.

The Home Office has announced that, from 29 October, people applying for a fi***rm or sh***un certificate will face stronger safety checks, under new rules that will be coming into force to help keep the public safe. The UK already has some of Europe's strictest fi****ms licensing rules.

These checks will include details on a second homes where a fi***rm could be stored; information on all those living in a household, and further checks on medical conditions and treatment.
