Paper poppies for a pop up shop! Yes, I’m back at the Stars in Bishop’s Castle from 30th June for three days, celebrating all things F L O R A L 🌼 with Lexi Morris and Bex Hunter We will have lots of gorgeous flowery stuff for your eyes to feast upon, and drop in workshops using everlasting flowers and crepe paper. If you fancy joining in with all the flowery fun, then why not visit us? Another day, another garden. The most beautiful garden, orchard and wildflower meadows at Hurdley Hall, open yesterday as part of the It’s a truly magical place and they’re open again on the 21st June.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the walled garden at Wildegoose looking lovelier. I came away with a boot full of beauty and a brain brimming with ideas! 💚

Good enough to eat! More floral flim-flammery for you to feast your eyes on! 💚♥️ I’m making up more of these sweet little flower pots with nasturtiums today. I love the contrast of the red and green and will be using this winning colour combo in my geraniums. I have been experimenting with paint and ink to create the shield like variegated leaves and I’m pretty happy with the results. More workshops are planned for September and November at the wonderful with a seasonal flower pot and mistletoe bunches in time for the festive season. My crepe paper flowers are sometimes waxed but I think these look perfect as they are. They will soon be for sale on my website.

It’s a proper dolly mixture of weather here today. Beautiful warm sunshine followed by a cold wind and diagonal rain. Blossom confetti is flying past my kitchen window where the birds have been gathering the many cobwebs. I have retreated indoors to admire my ‘Sideboard of Many Blooms’! The teetering amaryllis is on its last legs, but the stocks smell deliciously sweet and clovey. I’ve been potting on lots of pelargoniums, and I’m looking forward to more wonky beauties that I will be using as inspiration for my paper flower workshops later this year. The sun’s out again so I’m back to the garden 🪏 🪏🪏🪏🪏🌷😎

Sunshine, chaffinches, bees and blossom, daffodils and primroses. What a glorious day it’s turning out to be 🌞 The new garden is a shambles, so I’m happy to be taking my time with plans for the future. In the meanwhile, I’m working on new paper flower projects. These have been a work in progress! I dyed the paper last year, and have just finished my nasturtium prototype, ready for another workshop in early June and I’m pretty pleased with the finished article. Westhope College and Art School is a wonderful haven of creativity, home made food and people who love making stuff and learning new skills. Paper flower craft has a long tradition in many countries, and was known as ‘parlour art’ by the Victorians. Women spending time together, making beautiful flowers to decorate their home. I’m delighted to be working, once again, with the lovely people at Westhope College and Art School. Nestled in the Shropshire hills, just outside Ludlow, Westhope is a Heritage Craft paradise. They offer an ever changing selection of quality workshops with a residential option. The food is home made and always delicious, and the grounds are sublime. Do book a workshop if you’re in need of some joyful craft therapy. A couple of spaces have become available on my paper fritillary workshop next Thursday. Book directly with the college. Next up are nasturtiums 🧡💛♥️
