The leadout is organised and it's down to the final sprint! On Saturday 31st May 2025 the shutters go down, the shop closes and Practical Cycles permanently ceases trading.

Perfect timing for the warmer and longer days - we have just had a delivery of Surly Kid Corral Kits! These affix securely to your Surly Big Dummy (including Big Easy and Big Fat) to allow the carrying of children. You can also use Yepp Maxi Easyfix seats with it too!

These lights are, er, lit! 🙄

We hope you have fared well during the lockdown. Although we have been closed, we have been working on some upgrades and improvements from our shielding and isolation nest!

There is likely to be a short period of downtime on the website and email service whilst we throw the switch to our new website - thanks for being patient whilst this happens.

We are tentatively aiming at reopening our Ebay shop at the start of July. We will confirm this nearer the time (hopefully there won't be a new significant virus flare up).

By then there should be some changes to the way you can buy via our Ebay store - particularly with a greater variety of payment mediums to suit more people.

Things will be a little different when we reopen - we will only be using Royal Mail and Parcelforce for UK deliveries - this will help us to continue our minimum contact with people but it will offer a better service than Hermes who we have decided to no longer use. Despatch times may be a little longer due to the system being under greater strain but good things come to those who wait. We will try our best to get your order to you as quickly and safely as possible.

We have taken the decision to temporarily close due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The risk to vulnerable people within our reach is too high, hence our decision.

Convoy! Breaker breaker! Keep on Trucking! etc etc...

The Surly Truck Stop Handlebars have arrived!

We think these are a modern take on the classic Randonneur handlebar. Apparently they permit you to ride on gravel! If you don't have these bars, the gravel troll will poke you away at the five-bar gated entrance with their gravel-smoothing pitchfork and you will suffer the shame of riding on t-t-t-tarmack! (just kiddin')

We think they are brilliant bars for gravel, cross, road, tandem or touring.
