Join us this Sunday for a disability awareness event! βΏοΈπ
Come along and meet a range of local organisations dedicated to supporting disabled people, promoting inclusion, and helping make our communities more accessible for everyone. π
- Have your mobility scooter security coded to help protect against theft π²
- Speak with Disability First, who provide advice on rights, benefits and support services, and act as a third-party hate crime reporting centre π¬
- Experience visual impairment simulation activities with N-Vision and learn more about the challenges faced by people living with sight loss π
- Discover inclusive sports and activities with Together We Can Do, who will be showcasing some of the opportunities they offer π
- Learn emergency-themed British Sign Language signs such as "Help", "Police" and "Fire" with Deafway π€
This event is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about different disabilities, discover local support services, and help break down barriers between disabled people and the police. You'll also learn about accessible ways to contact the emergency services if you ever need help.
Whether you're looking for advice, support, information, or simply want to learn more, everyone is welcome.
