A quick update for all my customers
It’s been a particularly challenging time for my business recently. On top of my van being in the garage, yesterday brought the news that Headlam, one of the UK’s leading flooring distributors, has ceased trading.
As a small independent business, I rely heavily on my suppliers, so this has had a significant impact on day-to-day operations.
Thankfully, there is some positive news. Likewise, another one of my main suppliers, has acquired a substantial part of Headlam’s business, meaning many of the ranges I rely on should be moving across to them. This is great news for the future, but inevitably there will be some disruption while everything settles down.
I also attended the Flooring Show last month and secured three new suppliers to help strengthen the business going forward. However, getting everything set up is taking time, as many other businesses are in the same position, and my location presents its own challenges.
With everything happening at once, I’ve decided to take next week away from fitting jobs so I can concentrate fully on sorting out suppliers, deliveries and getting everything back on track. Honestly, I’ve never felt so stressed, but I’m working incredibly hard behind the scenes to get things sorted.
I want to reassure everyone that I’m still here, and I’m doing everything I can to keep things moving and minimise any disruption.
I’ll keep you all updated as soon as I have more information.
