📚 Help refresh Airlie Primary School’s library for World Book Day 📚

Airlie Primary School is working to refresh their school library so pupils can enjoy new, up-to-date books in time for World Book Day at the start of March.

I am supporting them in this mission by running an Usborne Community Book Pledge and am reaching out to you in the community for support 💛

📚 Every donation goes directly to books for the children
✨ Usborne will boost every contribution by up to 60% in extra books

That means:
£10 becomes £16 worth of books
£50 becomes £80
£100 becomes £160

⏰ We’re aiming to place the book order mid-February so the books arrive in time for World Book Day.

Being an Usborne book lady is super fun. Like Vikki I joined for the books but almost 5 years on I am now helping others share the love of books.

Pop-up stalls, markets, parent & baby groups, nurseries, schools, fundraising, online, family and friends, there are so many ways to make a difference in the community and support reading for pleasure when do much is currently focused on the digital world.

I am particularly looking for local Teamies as I have more contacts than me and Haz can manage ❤️

I wanted to record a quick reflection after 2 brilliant days at Usborne Leadership Live, before I get back to the chaos of family life and all that.

Honestly, seeing people in this community is always my favourite part.

Highlights for me:
📌 Sue Pittman’s talk (I always come away with SO much whenever I hear her speak - she’s amazing)
📚 Jenny Pearson treating us to what inspired her books. She's absolutely hilarious and the BEST storyteller
🤖 The AI workshop has really got me thinking how I can use this more wisely in day-to-day life, free up time, and help me achieve those goals I set this weekend

Now to take all this motivation and put it into action 🙌

Getting to bring home a dedicated and signed book for my children is pretty special 🥰

A real highlight in a fantastic day at Leadership Live, Usborne’s all-partner event.

That cheesy grin says it all. Jenny Pearson is such a fantastic author, and getting to meet her and hear her hilarious stories in person was an absolute treat! ✨

One of those moments that makes me really grateful for what I get to do.

This really did start as a way to save money on kids’ books.

I joined Usborne on maternity leave with my second, thinking I’d just use the discount for upcoming birthdays and for some books for my little ones. I wasn’t looking for another job — and I definitely didn’t have loads of spare time.

Somehow, it quietly fitted around family life… and here I am over 4 years later, still doing it alongside a full-time council job and two kids.

In the past couple of years, it’s meant Christmas without stress, more yeses to clubs and activities, and the freedom to plan days out without overthinking the cost.

I’m sharing this now because the current starter kit is genuinely a good one — especially if you’re even half curious.
No pressure. No expectations. No Targets. Just great quality books ☺️
