🎃 The Biggin Update — we have lift-off! 🚀

Well, this has changed a bit!

Really pleased with how the Biggin is coming on. It’s putting on some serious growth now and, after all the watching and worrying earlier in the season, it’s great to finally see a pumpkin taking shape.

Still a long way to go and plenty can happen yet…

But for now — crack on, my beauty! 🎃🌱

🌲 Always Learning

We had a great day out this week visiting a fellow Christmas tree grower through the British Christmas Tree Growers Association.

One of the great things about this industry is the willingness of growers to open their gates, share ideas and talk honestly about what works — and sometimes what doesn’t!

There’s always something to learn and usually an idea or two to bring home and think about.

A big thank you to Clayton Fold Christmas Tree Farm for the warm welcome and for taking the time to show us around.

A cracking day, great company and plenty of Christmas tree talk. 🌲

🎃 It all starts here…

From one beautiful flower to pumpkins already starting to take shape.

It’s lovely to get in amongst the plants at this time of year and see just how much is happening under all those leaves.

Different shapes, different colours and plenty more still to come.

The pumpkin patch is starting to look proper now. 🎃🌱

🚜 Another Step Forward

The first gate is now in place. ✅

It’s only a small part of a much bigger plan, but it’s always satisfying to see another piece come together.

This new entrance will help us manage access while continuing the work we’re doing to improve the site for both growing and wildlife.

A big thank you to everyone who’s helping us move things forward.

One job at a time… 🌱

🎃 The Biggin Update

We have lift off… the Biggin has been set! 🎉

After weeks of growing the plant, we’ve now chosen the pumpkin we’ll be putting all our efforts into.

From here on, the aim is simple… keep it healthy and see just how big it wants to grow.

There’s a long way to go and plenty that can still go wrong, but this is always one of the most exciting milestones.

Let the growing begin! 🌱🎃

🌿 Could you help us make Cedarcroft Nurseries a haven for wildlife? 🐝🦋🐦

For quite some time we’ve had a vision of creating a nursery that’s not only known for growing Christmas trees and pumpkins, but also for supporting nature.

We’ve already made a start.

Over the past few years we’ve introduced a number of small changes across the nursery to encourage more wildlife, and the results have been incredibly encouraging. It’s amazing how quickly nature responds when it’s given the opportunity.

Now we’d love to take the next step.

We’re looking to connect with local wildlife groups, beekeepers, conservation volunteers, universities, colleges and individuals who share a passion for the natural world.

Perhaps you’re looking for a community project, a research opportunity, or simply somewhere to put your knowledge and enthusiasm into practice. Our crop rotation and evolving nursery could provide opportunities to trial ideas that benefit both wildlife and sustainable farming.

We don’t claim to have all the answers, and with a busy working nursery we’d much rather work alongside people with the experience and enthusiasm to help shape something special.

👉 Interested in getting involved?
Send us a message, comment below, or tag someone who might want to be part of this journey. We’d love to hear your ideas and explore how we can work together.

🌱 Together, let’s see what we can create for wildlife, our community, and future generations.

🚁 You never know what you’ll see at Cedarcroft!

This week we had an unexpected visitor flying low over the Christmas trees.

While the helicopter was busy carrying out its own work, it was a reminder that things never really stand still here.

Behind the scenes, we’re already busy planning this year’s Christmas season – finalising reservation dates, preparing opening plans and looking at a few new ideas for 2026.

There’s still plenty of summer to enjoy, but Christmas is quietly taking shape at Cedarcroft.

🎃 The Biggin Update

Looking proper this week.

Really pleased with how it’s coming on. It’s amazing how quickly the plant has filled the glasshouse over the last few weeks.

Plenty more work ahead, but we’re heading in the right direction.

Onwards we go… 🎃

Something exciting is taking shape… 👀🎄

Our new entrance gates have arrived!

Every year we try to make Cedarcroft Nurseries a little bit better, and this is another step on that journey.

We can’t wait to welcome you all back this Christmas, with plenty more improvements still to come.

🎃 Pumpkin Update

If I’m honest, I’d rather they were a little bigger at this stage.

Growing pumpkins certainly teaches you patience.

That said, they’re healthy, putting their roots down and, with a bit of warmth and the odd drop of liquid sunshine, I’m hoping they’ll soon find their stride.

Come on my beauties… you’ve got this! 🌱🎃
