Bolton based pub operator, Tonge Leisure, are looking for an experienced pub manager for an opportunity in Darcy Lever, Bolton.

Tonge Leisure, having been established since 2003, are focused on ensuring the locals' pub remains an active part within its community and, as such, continues to grow a well-managed estate of wet led public houses here in the North West.

We seek to appoint a self-motivated manager with a proven track record including a minimum of 3 year’s experience in running a managed or tenanted community type pub. References will be required.

As a manager for Tonge Leisure you will be required to set up your own limited company. Your fee will be based on a percentage of the weekly turnover which acts as a reward for any growth within the business. Other than staff costs any associated operational costs related to the business will be paid for by Tonge Leisure with the exception of council tax and a TV licence for the private accommodation.

- Must have leadership and management experience
- Sales & Marketing – maximise every opportunity
- Knowledge of EPOS - Managing stock and controlling GP’s
- Cellar Management - Cask Ale experience essential
- Customer Relations - Recruiting, training a team of staff
- Standards – 1st class internal & external standards
- Social Media Experience – joint managed page
- Promotions – Update relevant POS, football fixtures and price promotions etc

We will work with you to grow this business which will benefit both the company and yourself, the more you take the more you receive as a fee. One of the oldest pubs in Bolton is set to re-open under new ownership.

Bolton born Tonge Leisure Pubs are delighted to announce the acquisition of Cross Guns, Blackburn Road, Egerton.

The Cross Guns has been closed for several months and is expected to re-open it’s doors mid to late June.

The pub will undergo a small makeover with an intention of returning the Cross Guns back to being the hub of the community with a more focused approach on competitively priced drinks, live sport with the introduction of both Sky and TNT Sports shown on a number of newly introduced large screen TV’s.

The Cross Guns will reintroduce food within a few weeks of its reopening with a new menu focused much more on quality home cooked food.

Tonge Leisure Pubs managing director, Derek Tonge, said “after one or two stumbling blocks I am thrilled to have finally secured the acquisition of such a wonderful pub. It’s now all hands-on deck as we work towards reopening the pub as soon as possible. I am delighted to have secured the services of a really popular experienced management couple with Gina & Tony Laycock, known by many having worked in pubs previously in the Bolton area”.
