Flooring Retail Sales Associate
Role Overview
The role focuses on helping customers choose the right flooring for their home or business, providing expert product guidance, and supporting the full sales process from first enquiry to installation. The atmosphere is relaxed and approachable, and the goal is to make customers feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their choices. You’ll mix product knowledge with everyday problem‑solving and day‑to‑day showroom operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Customer Sales & Service
• Welcoming customers, having friendly conversations, and understanding what they’re looking for.
• Talking through different flooring options in a clear, down‑to‑earth way.
• Keeping in touch with customers about their orders, measurements, and installation dates.
• Support customers with after‑sales questions or concerns in a professional manner.
Sharing Your Flooring Know‑How
• Learning the ins and outs of luxury vinyl tiles/planks, carpets, vinyl, laminate, engineered wood, and more.
• Explaining installation basics so customers know what to expect.
• Suggesting the right underlay, trims, or care products when needed.
• Stay updated on new product ranges, trends, and supplier information.
Keeping the Showroom Running Smoothly
• Keep the showroom clean, organised, and visually appealing, ensuring samples and displays are up to date.
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS and estimating systems.
• Coordinating deliveries and installation with the fitting teams.
• Helping keep stock organised and communicating with suppliers when needed.
• Maintain accurate customer records, orders, and documentation.
Supporting the Team
• Work closely with showroom colleagues and fitters to ensure smooth customer journeys.
• Supporting colleagues during busy spells.
• Sharing product knowledge and learning together.
• Contributing to a positive, easy‑going team environment.
What You Bring
• A warm, approachable way of dealing with people.
• Confidence in chatting, listening, and guiding customers without pressure.
• A practical mindset and good attention to detail.
• Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfort with basic measurements and simple tech systems, such as Microsoft Office.
• A helpful, customer‑focused attitude with an interest in home design.
Salary £25,000 - £30,000
Full time position, involving alternate Saturdays
