It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that a correctly secured hat that meets the current safety standards is worn when riding on the showground or exercise areas.
2. Stallions and c**ts over the age of two, MUST be shown in a stallion bridle with a metal bit and chain lead. They may only be led by a handler aged 14 years or over. Ridden stallions must have a competent rider who is aged 14 years or over.

5. No one falling off in the ring will be allowed to remount and they must retire from the class.
6. Class timings are estimates only and subject to change. It is the competitor's responsibility to ensure that they are on time for their class and to ensure that the classes which they are entering do not clash with others. Do not rely on tannoy announcements.
7. You may request the judge to allow you to ring-hop but that does not mean they will hold the class up if you are not back in time for final judging. Some judges may not allow this.
8. The judge’s decision is final. Entry into a class means that you have accepted this rule.
9. Complaints procedure - see general show rules and regulations.
Equine Flu – Biosecuirty recommendations
We recommend horses to have been vaccinated to comply with the requirements of the primary course (1st vaccination and then 2nd vaccination between 21 – 92 days later), followed by the first booster (150 – 215 days) and all subsequent boosters. Horses may compete having received the primary course and prior to the first booster but not within 7 days of receiving a vaccine dose.
Horses must have been vaccinated within 6 months before the show but not less than 7 days of arriving at the show.
Foals
In-foal mares that have already had vaccinations of primary Equine Influenza course should be vaccinated 4-6 weeks before the foal is due to be born.
Foals should be vaccinated for Equine Influenza at 6 months to commence their primary course.
We urge all owners to adhere to strict biosecurity protocols at all times.
Vaccinations are subject to local risk assessments by the attending veterinarians.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NEITHER VACCINATION CERTIFICATES NOR PASSPORTS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SHOW OFFICE PRIOR TO THE EVENT. HOWEVER, RANDOM CHECKS MAY BE CARRIED OUT ON THE SHOWGROUND DURING THE SHOW
NOTE 1
RIDDEN Retraining of Racehorses
Amateur definition:
The rules are as in the rulebook with the following addition that an amateur may not show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm. In addition a person classed as amateur must not be supported by a company in any way or act as brand ambassador whether financially or in-kind. An amateur is a person who for the purpose of RoR classes does not/has not during the current season or previous season:
Engage (d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling, dealing or hiring horses in a commercial capacity. Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer's/Trainer's yard from January 1st 2026
Riders must not have ridden any animals produced by a Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Horses and riders must not receive any help from a Professional Producer/Trainer at a SHOW in the current season. A rider who has ridden for a Professional/Producer Trainer in the current or previous season must not have ridden horses at a show. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and will result in disqualification from future classes.
