Yet another breezy day at Westwood lakes, todays match was on Falcon where conditions were tough but nevertheless weights were reasonable. Venue regular Chris Weddle was first from peg 44. Chris weighed in 125lbs 8oz catching mainly on pellet but adding a few fish late on fishing maggot. 2nd was Tony Evans with 104lb 6oz from peg 26 Tony caught on maggot. Ashley Linacre came 3rd from peg 2 Ash fished hard pellet to weigh in 94lb 10oz. Young Harry Herbert did well from peg 42 weighing in 74lb 14 oz which won his section well done Harry. In 5th place was Chris Clark with 72lb 15oz from peg 38.

*** Hawk Lake 19/09/2026 ***

This Saturday’s open was fished in very blustery but mild conditions. The weights on Hawk were consistent barring peg 20 where Chris Clark had a little bit of shelter from the wind. Chris fished dead maggot across for 111lbs which won comfortably. Weights were a lot closer for the places. In 2nd was Chris Weddle with 84lb 6oz from peg 12, Chris fished a combination of a maggot and pellet. 3rd from peg 11 was Paul Herbert fishing similar tactics weighing in 83lb exactly. 4th from peg 10 was Colin spencer catching most of his fish on pellet. Colin weighed in 77lb 6oz. Steve Lane was 5th from peg 6 with 70lb 1oz caught on paste.

*** Hawk Lake 16/09/2026 ***

Another full house of anglers today on Hawk Lake, however as with the other lakes on the complex today, the fish didn’t seem to be in the mood for feeding.
Winner today in a close match was Martyn Kirk with 57lb 6oz, Martyn has fished his usual paste tactics on peg 19 for a slender victory over Steve Lane on peg 15, with 57lb 5oz. Third was Nick Preston on peg 16 with 49lb 7oz.

*** Osprey Lake 15/09/2026 ***

Every one of the 25 pegs were used on Osprey Lake today making a difficult day for a few of the anglers.
However there still has to be a winner and this was local angler Steve Lane from peg 15, Steve caught a mix of small Carp and F1s on paste fished close in .In second place from peg 10 was Andy Gierc with an excellent 81lb 14oz , Carp,F1s and Barbel were included in Andys catch. Third place went to regular visitor Carol Chamberlain from peg 14. Carol fished a small method feeder on several lines to keep the fish coming.

A damp start on Osprey this morning but by the end of the match it was t-shirt weather and the fish responded. 1st from peg 14 was Richard Kerridge fishing maggot and caster shallow for an impressive weight of 202lb 8oz. In 2nd place was Phil Turner from peg 12 fishing hard pellet and weighing in 122lb 6oz. In 3rd spot was Ted Tulley on peg 22 fishing pellet and maggot for 109lb 12oz. In 4th spot was young Henry Herbert weighing in 106lb 5oz on pellet and maggot. Henry was on unfancied peg 2 well in Henry.

*** Hawk Lake 10/09/2026 ***

A small turn out for the anglers on Hawk today. The fish on Hawk Lake proved to be in a dour mood though the final weights were still reasonably close apart from that of the winner. In 1st place was the tackle shops very own employee Tom Elston who took the win by a comfortable 26lb margin with 117lb from peg 15. Tom fished hard pellet to catch carp with the odd F1 and barbel also. In second place was Steve Lane who weighed in 90lb 14oz from peg 13 with a similar mixed catch caught on paste.
In third place was Lee Cowlan with 85lb 12oz from peg 11

A full turn out on Hawk today for the over 50’s open. After a nice sunny start the wind gradually picked up throughout the match. Hawk lake produced reasonable weights considering every peg was took and a variety of baits caught fish. 1st place was Martyn Kirk from 16 fishing who weighed 126lb 13oz fishing paste close in. Next door on peg 15 was Mick Longshaw who weighed in 111lb 15oz, Mick caught on pellet. In 3rd place from peg 9 was Steve Lane who fished paste for 98lb 6oz. 4th place went to Jeff Duggan with 85lb 8oz Jeff started on pellet switching to paste for the latter stages of the match and in 5th place was Martin Lee with 84lb 10oz. Martin caught on Dead red maggot over groundbait.

A change in the weather today, with a cold wind and rain, made the fishing tougher than recently.
However, it still turned out to be a decent match for the 36 anglers.
Winner today from peg 7 was Chris Weddell with 104lb 11oz of mainly Carp caught with hard pellets both long and short, with a few fish also on maggots. In second place leading some close weights was Shaun W**d from peg 44 with 101lb3oz of Carp and F1s. Third place went to Dan Hardy on peg 45 with 96lb 13oz.
