So easy to get caught up in life, I am forever the busy person always one thing to the next.
However looking back what I’ve been up to makes it apparent that yes I am constantly busy, but I am constantly busy doing what I love.
And for that I will forever be grateful ♥️

If you’re an injector, it’s easy to think the only thing you should be investing in is your technique⁣
⁣
And that’s a priority of course. But it’s only one part of becoming a better injector⁣
⁣
The biggest improvements I’ve made in my career haven’t all come from learning how to inject. They’ve come from working on myself⁣
⁣
Becoming a more confident injector can relate to developing technique. But being a more confident injector 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 means setting boundaries. Managing expectations. Having more honest conversations with clients. Charging what your time is worth. Building a business that actually suits you. All of those things make you a better injector too⁣
⁣
One thing people outside this industry often don’t realise is how isolating it can be. Most of us work alone. Our friends and family don’t understand the pressures of running your own business, or what its like working in aesthetics ⁣
⁣
That’s why industry events matter to me and why I created 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁. Yes, we’re learning technical skills ( thank you to guest trainer ) but we’re also networking⁣

Being surrounded by people who understand our challenges, hold us accountable, inspire us and remind us why we started⁣

Being self employed is hard work, being a self employed aesthetics practitioner can be even harder⁣

For years I’ve had a WhatsApp group that’s been exclusively for injectors who’ve trained with me⁣
⁣
It started as somewhere my students could ask questions after their training, but it’s become much more than that ☺️

We share honest feedback on products, treatments, ask for second opinions, celebrate results, reassure each other and swap ideas that help us all become more confident injectors⁣
⁣
It’s valuable for everyone in the group…myself included! I’ve learned just as much from those conversations as anybody else⁣
⁣
The more people I’ve spoken to while organising my event, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵, the more I’ve realised how many injectors are doing this completely alone⁣

Some aren’t friends with other injectors. Many don’t have friends or family who are even self employed and understand why you can’t ‘switch off’ after 5pm or weekends⁣

It can be difficult explaining the pressures of running a business or navigating the ups and downs of this industry when the people around you simply don’t relate⁣
⁣

At 72, the jawline has experienced bone resorption, fat pad descent, tissue drop, loss of skin elasticity and ligament stretch, so shape will naturally soften ⁣

What an incredible achievement! ⁣

8.7st is a whole person! What my client wanted was balanced. She felt her face had ‘dropped’ and to some extent that’s true as she’s lost the fat pads that supported her face ⁣
⁣
Add in to the scenario the natural collagen loss we get in our 40s, and it’s easy to feel like your reflection suddenly looks tired or heavier around the lower face⁣
⁣
What made this client interesting is that she already had a fantastic, naturally strong mandible⁣
⁣
She didn’t need filler all the way along the jawbone. She needed her mid face volume back to balance it and some strategic lower face placements to offset against jowls ⁣
⁣
We did just 6ml( ) plus anti wrinkle. Review booked for two weeks, so I can share including healed results, and my client has very kindly offered to share a pre weight loss pic too! 🙏🏼👀 ⁣

This client is one of the few where jawline filler (using of course ) really is the right treatment ⁣
⁣
She’s had facial contour with me previously, so this is a top up not a ‘dramatic’ first treatment, but she’s a great example of someone with a visible mandibular border that 𝘤𝘢𝘯 be enhanced with filler ⁣
⁣
One of the biggest mistakes I see injectors making is treating the request instead of assessing the face. A client says ‘I want a sharper jawline’ so they inject the jawline⁣
⁣
But if that client has a thicker layer of subcutaneous fat over the jaw, or significant skin laxity, no amount of filler is going to suddenly reveal a ‘crisp jawbone’⁣
⁣
The filler is sitting on bone, 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 all of that tissue⁣
⁣
To make the jawline visible, you’d have to keep adding projection until it sits beyond the soft tissue covering it. By that point, the lower face starts looking wider, boxy & square 🥴⁣
⁣
That’s why clients end up feeling disappointed and dissolving. They simply weren’t the right candidate for that treatment⁣
⁣
Those are the clients where I’m much more likely to work on the chin and anterior jawline instead. Changing the proportions of the lower face and a V line, addressing chin, will create the definition they’re looking for without trying to build an entirely new jawline⁣
