We designed our Fabric Guide as an educational tool, to help you identify how different fibres and fabric types look, feel and behave, so you’re never surprised by what arrives when you shop online.

The irony that this spool holder is mostly empty… 😆 guess it’s time to fill it up!

ESPECIALLY considering we’ve got a cheeky little 3 for 2 deal on all our threads right now…

I just think there’s no such things as “too many” threads, because there’s nothing more annoying than not having the right colour to hand when you need it!

I’ve accumulated a veritable rainbow of them over the years and I love being able to just open up my sewing box and choose my favourite 🌈

Okay, it’s not as glamorous or as fun as a jazzy bag project… but I think its attraction is that it IS actually achievable!

Whenever we’re releasing new projects, I’m always mindful of having something that’s going to be a success for beginners. This is that project! It’s so important when you’re starting out to not get too ahead of yourself, and pick something you’ll be able to finish so that you’re ready and raring to delve into another sewing project.

I’ve seen so many people get too ambitious on their first one, and give up completely because it was waaaay above their skill level… (you’ll get there eventually though) 🙈

So this fun little pot holder project was the answer to that dilemma! It’s small, achievable and yet satisfying to make, even for somebody new to sewing. You can practice some solid foundational skills like quilting and applying bias binding, AND you’ll have something useable at the end too 😀

Plus who doesn’t love this cute chickens print?!
