nts whose guitars were in dire need of one of three things;
Sell it! Set it up or
Chop it up for firewood. Hence CJ Guitars was born. Out of desperation I guess to allow my poor students the ability to play their guitars without the need to apply several Kilos of pressure to bring the string to bear down on to the fret board (believe me, I've seen it and played it. . .). I re-string, set up, restore, repair and build guitars and have been providing this service to a few people who have come to know and trust me. They are still with me today. I hope it is because they know they will be getting a Gold Star service. If you want to know more, then please contact me either by email or leave a voicemail message on my phone. The only type of guitar work a can not do (because I do not have the facility at this time) is build acoustic guitars from scratch. I am hoping that in a couple of years I will be able to provide this service.

Harley Benton came in a few weeks ago. My good friend Dean, who owns this beast asked me to undertake a pickup swap out and full set up. The resulting guitar emerged and it felt like an instrument boxing well above its weight. Fantastic quality on these guitars at the fraction of the price of one with similar finish and more known name. Lovely to play too.

Just a quick set up for a former student who has brought his Washburn backpacker guitar. Truss rod reset and saddle adjustment required, plus a new set of light strings has got it up and running.

So, theres life in this SG. Just needs a quick dusting, action lowering and new strings and we are all set.

Soooo, recently a big mate of mine asked if he could have his Telecaster sorted. It was muting the strings when Chris, the awesome guitarist was doing the bends. So, to plan that one, I noticed the frets could be slightly made to be flatter, so I did. One fret dress, profiling and polishing later, I set the guitar up on D ADarrio's finest 9s, and the fault cleared. One happy Chris, one happy band.
Me? I got some beers. Its always a good thing when I'm given beers.

Hi folks, Once again I have not been on here much, but do appreciate those who are continuing to like this page. I have a lot of things to do guitar-wise but have a lot of family commitments too, which is stopping me from luthering away my time. I will post some new pics of trivia stuff, will include string changes and finding my way to starting up a video file of stuff I shall be and will be getting up to by Summer this year. Fingers crossed :-)
