The great Emma Carroll will be in Bovey Tracey on 19 October from 5-6pm to celebrate her newest book, Dracula & Daughters: School for Slayers.
Come & hear all about the brave granddaughters of Dracula who are on a mission to heal vampires. Emma will read from the book and lead us through a fun activity. Following the event, she will sign your books, which will be available to purchase on the day from First Draft Books. You can also check out Emma’s books from Bovey Library!

Recommended for readers 8+. Tickets are £2 per person. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to support the work of Bovey Tracey Library – like putting on this event! – in our community. Thank you.
Dracula & Daughters: School for Slayers is packed full of atmosphere and gothic detail. The mission: to heal vampires and keep the streets of Temstown safe. Trouble is, the new Guildmaster is insisting the city is now vampire-free and wants Dracula & Daughters to close. But the undead are still lurking. The granddaughters of Dracula are about to have their healing skills firmly put to the test.

The Thieves Beneath the Floorboards written & illustrated by Mikey Please.
My business mentors Rene & Glumfoot are back in action, working together to keep their dream alive. I have never related so hard to a character in literature as I have to Rene. Utterly charming, beautifully illustrated and just such a joyful addition to the series.
All three books are available in the shop and for home delivery through our Bookshop.org page (links in bio!). Do yourself a favour and pick them up, whether there is a young reader in your life or not. You can thank me later.

Let's set up for an event at First Draft Books.
This was our very first Musical Book Talk with the great Steve Knightley around his book, Apparently Not: Twenty Tales in Transit. The energy was immense - there was laughter, there was poetry, there was an incredible sing-along. Just such a good time.
Always grateful to Grace & Favour Home for allowing us to use their fantastic retail space for our events. Our teeny tiny indie bookshop would be lost without them. And shout out to Steve who is always there to help with the transformation (and was a good sport about appearing in this video!).

It's the 3rd Annual South Devon Bookshop Crawl!
Four friendly local indepedent bookshops have teamed up to once again bring you the best bookshop crawl in South Devon! Grab some friends and explore the wonderful indies on your doorstep (& their home towns).
How does it work?
📚 Pick up a card at any of the four participating bookshops from this Friday, 11 September.
📚 Visit each of the four bookshops to get a stamp.
📚 Fill your card by COB on Bookshop Day (Saturday, 10 October) to get a limited edition Books Are My Bag tote, designed by Ashwin Chacko, while supplies last.
No purchase necessary. Though it's books, so.
It's been amazing meeting so many booklovers during past bookshop crawls. Many have done both years! So we can't wait to see you again and introduce you to our wonderful South Devon towns.
