Hello, my name is Helen Bebbington, the founder of Hubble Bubble Organics which has been operating in the heart of the Lake District since 2008. As well as running my business, I am also a single mother of three children (ages 7, 2 and 1) so as you can imagine, my life is very full on, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! My journey in this wonderful industry started at 16 years young (I am now 4
0), when I trained at my local college to be a beautician and hairdresser. During this period, I developed very severe acne on my face which massively affected my confidence to go about my daily life (I would even wear very heavy make-up to try and cover it). It didn’t help that many of the products suggested to me by industry professionals, teachers and beauty sales advisers, didn’t look at the bigger picture of my skin, body and emotional health. I spent hundreds of pounds searching for the ‘magic fix’ face cream. I even went to the doctors about my skin and was prescribed various medications and creams. I was at a complete dead end with no place or no one to turn to – or so I thought! After working full time in a salon that made their own range of products (shampoos and conditioners) and had a more natural view on hair and skincare, this inspired me to look into other areas of healthcare. I also loved the 1-1 interaction that came with the job whereby I listened to my clients problems that they had specifically with their health, skin and hair. Thus, highlighting a common theme that their issues were not improving with the normal avenue of treatments. The experiences I gained inspired me to retrain and I became a clinical aromatherapist, aromatologist, homeopatic practitioner and doula. These specialist areas looked at the ‘why’ behind the individual’s problem, rather than just masking behind it. During my training, I worked a lot on myself having homeopathy and aromatherapy and creating my own prescription, designed for my skin. Finally, I saw a significant difference and my skin improved dramatically. For the first time in years, I was acne free with clear skin! At the age of 22 years old, I set up a holistic centre in Ambleside with four colleagues. I quickly built a strong data base of regular clients who came to see me with long term skin problems. I treated them homepathically and made individual bespoke prescriptions. They were so effective that their family and friends kept using them so I had to start making a range of skincare products that could be bought by people without a consultation. The success of this is what led me to set up ‘Hubble Bubble Organics’ when I was 28 years old in 2008. Since then, my loyal clients and family have grown rapidly! My products reflect what my own life and that of my clients need. The most important thing to me about my products is they work effectively and quickly for my clients. The purest ingredients free of synthetic chemicals, emulsifiers, preservatives and other such junk gives the best results.
